Couples Cribbage, a.k.a. Dove's Cribbage
This is a cribbage variant for unabashed cribbage addicts and their reluctant significant others.

The rule change is simple. Play using all standard 2-player cribbage rules, but both players peg on the same track, using the same set of pegs. That's it. Just play and enjoy each other's company. If you must keep score, try to see how few hands you can take to "win".

The game strategy that is effected most directly is in pegging. It's amazing how fast you can move around that board when you are both trying to feed the other person 15s and build on each other's runs. Putting cards into the crib is also different, since it's always your crib.

Being a cooperative game, yes, this is pretty much just solitaire for two. But if you've ever read Dreamcatcher by Stephen, you'll agree that cribbage is more about the people that you play it with than anything else.

Here is the single track board that I built for playing this variant with my significant other:

We just won this variant in three turns with 10 extra points! I think the weakest hand either of us had was a double run of 4, and we had pegged several runs upon runs upon runs. Feels almost like cheating :-)
