The Red Dragon Inn is a solid game with a lot of heart and a quirky sense of humor sure to delight anyone who's ever thought about what a party of adventurers do with their downtime. The second expansion adds a new pack of drink cards and four new unique characters. So there's two reasons for buying this to add to your game.

The Characters

There's four new characters in the expansion. Instead of just adding four new faces, each character has a unique play mechanic. It seems at first like it would be goofy and just require you to keep track of one more thing during the game, but it works out... not bad, but it doesn't really add anything to the game. It's a little overreaching, but as long as it doesn't set the standard for any future expansions (thus causing everything to spiral out of control) then no real harm done.

The Drink Deck

The drink deck adds a bunch of old favorite drinks, as well as some new interesting ideas such as monsters attacking the inn. It would be great to mix them all into the other drink decks and have more random fun.

Except you can't do that. The drink deck cards are printed much larger than the cards from the previous expansions, so there's no way to shuffle them together without a bench vise, a sanding block, and the finest-grain sandpaper you can find. Which will feather the edges of all the cards and more-or-less ruin them.

So half the reason for buying the expansion in the first place goes right out the window. The new characters are nice but nothing special. In the end, it's like you're left holding a badly-cooked hamburger that you kinda want to send back to the kitchen and ask them to do it right. Except the restaurant has a policy that since you took the shrink wrap off there's no returning it, so you just kind of have to eat the bun with some fries and a little bit of that lettuce that's surprisingly fresh for the kind of place you're in.

My new drink cards shuffled in just fine.

I noticed no size difference.

Interesting... I've never even checked the size of the cards in my drink decks as I don't mix them together. My group selects one drink deck at random to start each game and we switch to a new deck when that one runs out, paying one gold each to "pay off the tab" per the rule.

My RDI, RDI2, and RDI3 drink cards are all of the same size as well.

I suspect the OP might have received a defective batch?
