I'm not a new user, but I have a new user question.

Does anyone know when posting limitations for new users stop?

I've been running a script to automate PBF games. I created a new user, waited 30 days so the new user was no longer "new," and it is still not letting me post anything more than once per minute (which is trouble if the script needs to update three threads at once).

If I use the script with my own account, I don't get this limitation.

So again my question is, when does this limitation stop?

I think Octavian will have to answer that exact question, but some limits persist forever. If you try to post the same message twice, it doesn't matter how many hash marks you have, you mayn't do it. You should consider just having the script wait a minute between postings. Part of the TOS is:

5. B. You shall not use or launch any automated system, including without limitation "robots," "spiders," or "offline readers," that accesses the Website in a manner that sends more request messages to the Geekdo servers in a given period of time than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a conventional online web browser, except as expressly permitted by Geekdo.

That's exactly what I've ended up doing, having the script wait a minute before posts. The problem is mostly when two games need to be updated at once. I've already informed Octavian about my script when I asked him about copyright concerns.

At the very most, it's only checking for thread updates every 60 seconds, and it's only making 2-3 small posts right afterward (usually more like a single post every 10-60 minutes), so I don't think it's against the TOS, as anyone could easily read 2-3 posts every 60 seconds.

I guess it will just have to keep going like it is.

Re: Question about posting limitations
To answer my own question, the limitation goes away after 100 posts.
