It has been nearly a year since we have had a NZ Math Trade and with Secret Santa happening soon if we want to do a 2012 Math Trade now maybe the best time?

What say you?!

Too close to Christmas and the Secret Santa for me.

Also only got one game on the don't-want-pile at the moment, with dozens more still to play!

I'm pretty much always up for a maths trade. I have a few games in my trade pile that I've been meaning to put on TradeMe for the last few months.

After christmas could work too, though.

I'd be interested, but I think in the new year would be the best timing for it

I've got something to put in, but I'd recommend it should happen in the New Year after gifts have been received from various Secret Santas, etc.

January would probably suit me better. Got a few games I would like to play a little to see whether I want to keep or trade.

Not getting much gaming in at present to do this. Only 4 games played in September, which was very sad indeed. A better start to October though.

In previous years when the Math Trade happened about this time I got to see lots of games on the list that I then read about but not get them all. The ones I missed out on I could then add to my wishlist for secret santa. I'd rather my wishlist grow before secret santa then afterwards
In theory it isn't too late that we can't do the Math Trade and get the results before Santa's are assigned.

On the other hand if we do the math trade in the new year we may have unwanted presents to add to the list.

I have added a poll to my original post.

Let the voting commence!

I'd have a few games to put up. Still haven't played the last game I got in the last trade. Keen for any time

Is there an NZ/AUS secret Santa this year?

Also (assuming it is OK with David) we have Hamilton BGBTB coming up in November that we could complete trades at to save on postage?

I've never been involved in one of these before but it sounds like an interesting concept and I've got a game I'd like to move on.

Yes, absolutely. As long as the games are secondhand, which is the norm, or new but not purchased "on site" (if that makes sense).

Thanks David.

It would seem people want to wait. So we will put a pin in this until next year. Although we could still plan ahead somewhat so we could line it up with a future event happening shortly after the completion of the math trade so we can still meet up and swap games? Off the top of my head I think we have Battlecry in March and Wellycon in June?

there r pros and cons for both b4 and after xmas.
the biggest reason to wait till the new year would be that people will be getting more games from santa and be able to switch them if they find they r not to their tastes. just my 5c.

The other reason is that it would be easy to get two copies of the same game from the math trade and secret santa.

Well I'm now interested in a Math Trade, but this time I will let someone else run the show.

Count me in, when do you think we can get this underway?

Ditto.

I'd also be keen if cash can be included. There's a way of doing this, there were some Aussies who did a math trade that included cash, I can't remember where the information was.

I'm, I'm afraid there's been a mistake. The man who has been speaking to you is an impostor. He is not in fact the Bishop of East Anglia, but a man wanted by the police. I am the Bishop of East Anglia and anyone who doesn't believe me can look me up

I'm not that keen on a Maths trade, I'm a player not a collector and many of my games show the love. Also I've got quite a few incomplete games, that I got like that and while as long as they are easily playable I'm not fussed.

I do have 15 games in shrink but the stress of post issues worries me.

If I have any money though i might be interested.

Re: Time for another Math Trade?
Definitely keen for some form of trading (math or not, cash or not). After all the games we got for Xmas, some older ones are unfortunately never going to see any play so they might as well go to somebody else

I've never done a math trade, could someone explain it to me? I have new copies of Rune Age (plus expansion) and D&D: Castle Ravenloft that I might want to trade. They're sleeved and haven't been played. Do I put up a list of games that I want in a trade or something? I'm
Kind of keen for cash too.
