For King of Tokyo's 'board', I understand if you think it's unnecessary, but I don't mind it. It's small, adds a twitch of color to the gaming table, and can't imagine it affected the price point all that much. It's better to have that than nothing - it's a simple focal point to show who is the target(s). As there is enough room in the box, I use my not-oft-used-any-longer game pieces from Monsterpocalypse, and people like these more than the standard cardboard. I use a tall building as Tokyo, the nuke plant as the bay, and 6 different monsters from the game. Adds a bit of visual fun, and yes, I always like to play with the aptly-tentacled Cthulean guy.

And Erik, it's funny - I noticed your improved mic about the same time I found a new mic myself after some were complaining over on Dice Tower on my 5-minute segment (mostly constructive criticism with a couple overly demanding types). I didn't mind though, as the old mic I was using frankly stunk, and the family gets use out of it. Plus I had to learn to export the finished file out of Audacity at a higher bps rate than I was using. Makes a difference.

Brian,

I know what you mean. As soon as someone pointed out that my old mic was all in the middle (sound wise) it suddenly sounded like garbage. My ignorance disappeared in a flah.

I'm still making some adjustments on the new mic, but I think it sounds a lot better. At least I'm getting high and low tones that didn't get before.

Re: OBG 98: First Impressions
Thanks for posing my question to Aldo. What I think I heard is that a game's value is relative to the components and the price points of similar games (component wise). That would indicate, to me anyway, that online stores cannot devalue a game, since it doesn't change the components or the relative price.
