Simple disagreement about this card. Is the ability unique or not? I was saying it was not, but wife said yes.

Example:

If you have 3 War Raptors on a single base I would say that is a total power of 15. +2 each and +3 each from ability, giving each card a power of 5 separately.

She was saying that the total should be 9. +2 each and then +3 total from ability, but I thought if you went down to unique approach then you wouldn't know how or which card(s) to attribute the +3 to.

This is correct.

yeah, this is the one card i really hate from Smash-Up. The Raptors should not give themselves the bonus, or they should start at power 1. the Dinosaurs are the only deck without a power 2 (while in play) or lower minion. which makes a lot of cards in other decks completely useless cardboard in your hand. in all other matchups, all cards in all decks have SOME functionality, but against Dinosaurs, all cards which destroy or otherwise affect a power 2 or less minion are USELESS (except against the other faction the player is using, i guess). i get that Dinosaurs strength is their size but this still seems a bad design choice to me.

Re: War Raptor
I totally disagree. That the Dinosaurs are effectively immune to the number of abilities and actions of other decks which target power 2 or less is one of their few redeeming qualities. They need it to keep up with everyone else.

And that's not a bad thing! They are, as you said, the only team in the game that can make this kind of boast, and it ties in well with their theme and strategy. They focus on power, above everything else. It makes them a unique team in the game, one that takes thought to use and to fight against.
