I'd have thought so, but to be fair to it, the print-and-play version was apparently released in 2012.

It is, but Cheapass redid the art on them and released "round" cards.

I'm not sure where that would go in the list. Would it be a re-theme?

I see a few guys nominated a solitare game as game of the year, but nominated another game as best solitare game. I don't understand the logic. I understand that the best solitare game may not be game of the year, but if one thinks a solitare game is game of the year, why would he think another solitare game is better?

I have three games on the list. This is the first time I designed board games & shared on BGG. I know they are far from professional. I won't nomiate my own games. I just wish somebody can take a look & give me some feedbacks.

Thanks!

Hi guys,
I've just made a page for my new 2 player pnp card game on BGG... I really don't want to nominate my own game, I'd just like to mention it here, for your kind consideration.
it's called Dreamlands Adventures.
Thanks for your attention!

For me both nominations are great games that I enjoy. But Shadows deserves something better than solitaire game hence the game of the year nomination.
But I also like Arkham Dice a lot so therefore the solitaire nomination (hope this makes sense )

EDIT: could you post the names of your 3 games ? That way I don't have to scroll through the whole list

Thanks.

I also have three other W.I.P. games below.

Pls take a look & give me some ideas. I wish these can be on list of next year's PNP Awards.

I have no such shame about nominating Paiko, but to my pleasant surprise, someone already did! Thanks for making me feel all warm and fuzzy on an otherwise darned chilly day.

I have further questions on the retheme. I actually did a Harry Potter inspired retheme of Paiko, for auction-only with proceeds to be donated to Child's Play. There are photos, but the theme itself is not available for print directly (though others could mimic it). I assume the retheme *also* needs to be freely available as a Print and Play? (My feeling is 'yes', but it really wasn't clear.)

We brainstormed pretty hard, and the rules and alternate homegrounds turned out pretty awesome and appropriate. There are photos on Facebook for the curious:

Huh, so that's what that video looks like. Never bothered to look it up. Or listen to the whole thing on the radio.

I got excited when I saw this is an expansion to Smash Monster Rampage!. But after seeing the pics and reading the rules I really don't see how this is an expansion. Could you explain this a bit ?

Ultracheng wrote:

Not my type of game: religious theme (might interest other players though) and fixed at three players.

Ultracheng wrote:

This could be a great game if you dropped the need for the Wizard's Quest board. As far as I can tell this is the only thing that is being reused from the original game but this limits the people who can play this. Design a new board for this and I'll print it (looks interesting)

Ultracheng wrote:

Mall of deads: has potential, from the description it compares to City of Horror, a game i enjoy playing. I'll keep an eye on this one.
Mobile suit Gundam: a wargame with an anime theme ? Love it already.
Hero must die: resembles Dungeon Lords but with a different twist. Again, interested.

EDIT: maybe the OP can make a seperate thread where we can discuss the entries and other things ? That way this thread has only the votes.

As I mentioned in the board, Go! Go! E.D.F. is a STANDALONE expansion of SMR. You don't need SMR to play. I need to put it as an expansion of SMR coz I used the map from that game. I see the map of SMR has potentials, so I tried to design an advanced version adding more stuffs. I will design another expansion to play as the aliens.

I think the Noah game is not that religious. It's more humorous than religious. I guess people may like it if they like the story & WP game. At first I think a fixed 3P game may be a problem. Then I see there are games fixed for 1P(solitare), 2P(chess & most wargames) & 4P(Mahjong). So if these games are ok, I think a fixed 3P game should not be a problem. At least it's easier to get three players than four or more.

Again I like to recycle games. The board in Wizard's Quest is fantastic & the main thing I like in that game. I think you can get the game board in less than $25 on ebay easily. Too bad I don't have the skill to draw a new map. I wish someone could help me. Anyway, if you really want the map, I think there is a map image in the image section. EDIT: the map in PDF file is available in the file section now.

Thanks for checking my other games. I may open new threads once I completed them. Actually the Gundam game is near finished. I just need to playtest it & write the rules.

Last year by the end of the 2 week period I had a lot more responses and even a LOT of people who had geekmailed me their nominations as they didn't want to make them all public. I've not received any in the geekmail so far this year and precious few here. Maybe it's more to people's ability to think about after Christmas so with that thought in mind I am going to extend the nomination period a further 2 weeks. So now we have until Monday January 7th to get noms either in here or in my geekmail.

I could only comment on games that I played.

I counted it because his daughter made the cutest artwork for the game. So it was a "family" game because a family made it.

I do play solitaire games with my son on a regular basis. He is almost 3 years old. It is fun. I play the game and he rolls the dice and rearranges the pieces making it impossable to play.
