Surprise, surprise. You could have seen this outcome about four months ago. Please, for the love of god, would someone, sometimes ever mention a game besides Caylus?

Not sure if the above is written sarcastically but technically speaking, someone, this time, did mention 4 other games besides Caylus.

As far as I'm concerned, there's a fair amount of tunnel vision besetting most Caylus lovers and haters...

Congratulations to all the winners!

Caylus is a fine fine game and a worthy winner.

Don't worry. Someone will soon be mentioning things other than Caylus. Saw precious little Caylus played this weekend at BGG.CON, only recall seeing it played once.

Hey, where's your fish?

Apparently not inside a Geekies medallion...

:soblue:

Congrats to the winners, though. Jorb well done. :)

:shake: BOO! HIS-S-S-S-S-! how DUMB and "Euro-tarded" do you have to BE to 'select' a NON-"wargame" for an 'award'!?!
"BEST 'Game' NOT appropriate for its 'Category' is..."
THAT 'one'!
:p

Poor Aldie & Derk, they almost bit their tounges trying to pronounce Die Nacht Der Magier.
Here is some help: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/fileinfo.php?fileid=19696

Could it be they all have one track minds? :shake:
So, what happened to that original category name of "Two-Player (non-war) game"? I hope that the medal had the proper category written on the back showing that Twilight Struggle won both the best wargame and best 2-player non-wargame awards.

Thanks for organizing this Aldie. Congratulations to the winners!

I'm still sad about the penguins though, they were nominated in something like 4 categories I believe, but couldn't snag themselves a single award :soblue:

If it's any consolation, Twilight Struggle did win the 2-player non-wargame award.

I played in that game, mainly to teach two others who hadn't played it before.

We used the library's copy. Interestingly, it was unpunched.

I think everyone was caught up in the C.o.t.N as usual around post-essen. I know I was. I don't think I played any of the games I brought to play!

Next year I feel Imperial and Space Trader on the buzz seat

I guess according the tally, that's precisely what the majority did not want to do.

Pretty sure that's for Cult of the New.

Not necessarily the majority, just the plurality. We don't know if Caylus got more than 50% of the votes.

I'm still confused about Twilight Struggle being up for a war game award. Just because it's published by a war game company, it's a war game?

Fair dues... but if Caylus did get more then 50% then I think we'll have to close the book on how much it's liked by the BGG voting public... But I am happy to report that 3 out of 3 dentists agree that it won't improve your chances of avoiding cavities.

Aldie,

In some of the categories, we had a lot of good choices. I am curious about the other top choices. Can you also list the 2nd and 3rd runners up in each category? Sort of the "finalists" of each category. Should be plenty of glory to go around.
