Ok, so I beleive the pictures are:
Spoiler (click to reveal)
France, Italy, Germany, pocket knife

But according to the clues above they may be
Spoiler (click to reveal)
country, map, flag, knife

I still have no idea what do do with them, or how the clue at the bottom works, I cannot find something with 10, the knife ends with e, but thats about as far as I can get. PLEASE HELP.

You're on the right track - this is very close. Rethink the first one.

It doesn't matter that it's a country, what is the image?

Do not use the names of countries. What are you looking at?

That clue was enough for me to get three items; I was able to trial-and-error my way to the answer from there ... but what's a ten-letter word whose third letter is what it is?

Spoiler (click to reveal)
The first two letter are si.........

-MMM

I got the answer to the puzzle, through brute force, but this is still not helping me figure out the 10 letter word. Can you GeekMail me the word?

I thought the first image was a "shape", and I could not figure out a 10 letter word for pocketknife. I was still able to get the correct answer, though.

Put one of each of the pink words together with one of the black words to make a two word phrase that can describe a four letter word. The phrases aren't necessarily typical.

Well I figured it out and got a 6 letter answer that fits all the clues and X's and it says that's wrong. I dunno.

Doh, it would help if I used a 7 letter word.

I figured out the answer last night without knowing three of them. After sleeping on it, I finally clued in to the connection between the answers.

OK...so I think I have five of the seven answers, but the pattern of letters I have isn't making a word jump out at me, which means I have to figure out either he-skirt or he-toy...neither of which seem logical.

For Friday's puzzle.

Spoiler (click to reveal)
Okay they changed sauce to steak sauce, which immediately made me think of A-1 sauce. So going on that kind of a theme, all the rest could start with A.

A-Team, alliance,
Alcohol
Alps
A-1
Animal Control Officer
Atop

The only one I like is A-1, and I can't find the word one anywhere in the puzzle orthagonally or diagonally
