Starting on February 14th, and every day after that for 14 days, a new puzzle will appear. All of the puzzles have one-word answers. You will need to poke around Ze’s site to gather the information you need to solve the puzzles. As Ze’s fans already know, this is no great hardship as his site is so much fun. The modest text links on Ze’s home page lead to a remarkable collection of works by one of the most fascinating characters on the web.

We will do a drawing a few days after the end of the contest. All of the players who solve the most puzzles will be entered in the drawing. The prize is a trip for two to New York City to attend Ze’s Party on the 23rd of March (this data is subject to change and more details will be forthcoming!)

Each puzzle will remain available for solving throughout the contest. In other words, you don’t have to solve today’s puzzle today. But you need to solve as many as you can by March 1st!

There is no penalty for answering a puzzle incorrectly. You may submit another answer. This is not a speed contest. No extra credit is given for solving puzzles quickly. Monkeys rule.

But, what if I "win"-(yeah right), yet don't wish to 'attend'? Could I then "award" this to somebody else? Might I perhaps 'auction' this OFF as well? Good Luck to one and all, that is, except for YOU "reading" this now!

Unless GROG gets his wish, and you can win from overseas and auction off the prize.

Oh Wait!

If I already live in New York does this mean I can get round trip tickets to anywhere in the country?

(Disclaimer for following post: I live outside popular culture as well as trendy web culture. Please forgive me for my ignorance.)

Why would I or anyone else take the time to travel to NY to go to Frank’s party? Is it a Cocktail party? Dinner party? Ice-cream social? Will it be formal or casual? Is it B.Y.O.B or cash bar? Details folks details!

Questions questions questions, yet the sound of silence is deafening. And so, the mystery deepens. Who is "Ze"? Does Ze give Tanga points? Will he meet me, or my nominated representative, at the station with a cocktail?

All and more will be revealed, after the next installment of...
"Don't Let The Server Go Down On Me."

Hmm. A puzzle contest for a Trip for two to New York. Sounds good.

But who is Ze Frank?
I found out who he is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ze_Frank

Where are the CONTEST RULES?

I cannot find the rules on the Tanga site, only the contest summary.

Is attending his party manditory on the WAY outside chance that I win the contest? I'd rather go visit family in the NYC area.

And if the date doesn't change is the a cash alternative?

Is the prize transferable?

I never thought I'd see the day when my being a boardgame fanboy and a Ze Frank fanboy would collide. Is BGG becoming a League of Awesomeness outpost? Chicka quack quack.

Well he has a pretty fun website, that is for sure. I spent WAY too much time yesterday playing with silly moving parts and doodles. Wish I knew how to program stuff like that. Maybe if I win he'll show me, LOL. If you want to know what the contest rules are, they are posted on Tanga at:

Those are not contest rules, that is a contest summary. The rules are usually a pretty boring read, but address things like if the prize is transferrable, alternate prizes (if any), eligibility requirements, etc.

If those are the only rules, then the contest could be won by one of our Aussie friends, because there is no mention of eligibility. Heck, it could even be won by Ze himself.

It seems like an interesting way for Tanga to generate outside revenue by designing a puzzle contest which requires the participants to visit certain websites.

Just to give you a heads-up, because I belong to the League of Awesome -

Ze Frank is this professional speaker guy who travels around doing his job in various locations. He took up the challenge to do the ... podcast for lack of a better word ... every day (if possible) for an entire year. And every Friday is a Ride The Fire Eagle Danger Day.

Basically, Ze is a big geek who makes jokes about news, traveling and some of the more intricate observations of life.

Being such a glib speaker, the Show is quite witty, with humor sprinkled in like so much chocolate fudge icing. If you don't like chocolate icing, you can visit the wiki to find shows that might interest you, and eat around the icing. However, that tends to take some of the fun out of it, and you may miss something very funny.

I'm exempt from the contest but hey! I hear it's going to be one heck of a party!

you have to do some clicking, but there are actually rules and restrictions posted here is the specific link:

https://secure.tanga.com/contents/5-Official-Tanga-com-Ze-Fr...

All prizes are non-transferable and must be accepted as offered, as there will be no substitutions and no cash equivalent.

Contest is open to all residents (excluding areas where prohibited by law) of the lower 48 States of the United States who are 18 years of age in which they reside. Employees and their immediate families of the sponsor(s), Tanga.com, or its affiliates and subsidiaries, their respective employees, independent contractors, commissioned employees, and participating contest sponsors are not eligible. By entering the contest, the entrants agree to give the sponsor(s) permission to use their name and/or picture in contest publicity without compensation other than the prize offered.

This should clear up some of the questions
