An ash I know, Yggdrasil its name. With water white is the great tree wet; thence come the dews that fall in the dales. Green by Urth's well does it ever grow.

Yeah, I figured out the groupings I think on my own. But what am I supposed to do with the three letter groups of gibberish?

I anagrammed them by hand and came up with "stable weight."

Does that make any sense?

I quit. At least tonight.

[o] I'm not sure your groupings are correct - no "b", need an "r". lig and hts are right. If you do it correctly, no anagramming is necessary. They line up into the phrase. gm me if you would like more help.

I got spring and summer pretty quickly, but I had assumed that autumn was:

words containing the letter "A", of which there were exactly three

Which threw me off completely. I now understand Winter, but I still think it is a stretch.

Yeah, pretty easy to guess, considering it's a one word answer. Got it on my first try.

In each set, one letter is changed to the letter two positions later in the alphabet. The letters between the changed letter pairs are m-i-d-d-l-e. But how does "middle" lead to the answer?

Overall I like the design. It was elegant with many hints to the final worded clue.... it was a little too easy to guess though.
