How about a pinch for the "Easy" puzzle... I found
Spoiler (click to reveal)
the six letter word
but when I apply what's in the box, the 4-letter word I get isn't the right word. Dunno where else to go...

I think you have an extra letter. I had a 5-letter word that translates to a 3-letter word
. You could GM what you have, but I'm going beddy-bye and won't see it til tomorrow.

well...I got the word suggested by the ornaments/numbers, but I am still not getting the leap to the final answer. Doing many many google searches but I really don't want to just start punching in a bunch of random answers...any clues as to the connection to help my search be more effective?

I'm getting absolutely nothing from the hypercross puzzle today. Not even the faintest idea of how to begin. Anyone care to throw a strong hint my way?

possibly salty question about the easy puzzle.
Spoiler (click to reveal)
so I'm looking for a toaster and my first thought was to look at recent puzzles but that got me nowhere so I started going through renfurdsons past puzzles and found 1 with a toaster in it. Now I'm at a loss for what to do. The little bit of salt over there hasn't really helped me.

a little bit of salt for the hard.
Spoiler (click to reveal)
Thinking of the words as sort of odd palindromes helped me to figure this out. But then don't give up if your answer doesn't work, think homonyms.

Now for some salt on the easy one? Anyone?

VERY SALTY for easy puzzle:
Spoiler (click to reveal)
Start at the front Tanga.com page and look for a toaster on your way to the easy puzzle. You can't miss it.

Got further than me...This one has me a little perturbed, though.

EDIT: Got it finally. Ugh...still think the other answer's better.

Spoiler (click to reveal)
I just looked through 14 pages of puzzles by him and found nothing. Why the answer isn't Warhol perplexes me, since Pop Tart minus the T makes Pop Art and he's the most well-known. Ugh...yuk

Well, I did mean palindroms but only because I don't know the word for what these are exactly.

Instead of being the same forwards and backwards they are. . .
Spoiler (click to reveal)
simply two words, one when read forward and a different word when read backward (though misspelled, saying them outloud helps). No rearranging needed.

Salty in the extreme:

Oh, I was switching the same two letters, rather than reading it backwards, and not doing any funny misspellings.

It's easier than that, sadly I too followed that thought process down the wrong path.

It was said elsewhere, not sure if it was here on BGG or over on tanga but. . . fairly minor salt
Spoiler (click to reveal)
go to tanga.com and click your way to the easy puzzle keeping your eyes open for a toaster.
