So the letters AREN'T in a 7x7 grid? I'm completely lost. Robrizob told ahecht he was right when he had it in a 7 x 7 grid.

And all this talk about word searches make me think it should be in a grid.

I'm ready to give up.

All this salt has been zero help.

Super Salt:

Spoiler (click to reveal)
The letters WILL go into the grid, just not as a simple overlay in the way they appear below it. Instead of seeing the letters as a 7x7 grid, see them as a single string of 49 letters, then apply them to the path in order. Then follow robrizob's earlier salt re: wordsearch.

See if you can find a correspondence between word lengths and other things.

The easy puzzle, I'm skipping. The dots are too small and making my eyes burn trying to determine the difference in colors. TO the puzzlemaker, I think I see what you're trying to do, but bigger dots please.

I think I know what's supposed to be done to the "easy" one, but I can't figure out where to do it. Any salt would be appreciated.

Ugh...I just realized, after torturing myself for the last 5 minutes how people are getting "gone" from that. The Star on the state is BAD. I took it as Green or Go Lincoln, not Green or Go NE.

It was kind of a throwback to one of the first puzzles where the clue was Nebraska+Montana and "Who's my father?"

The intermediate clue was NEMO.

Wow! I was proud of myself for a moment there. Thought I would have a early finish on the crossword, but it's not accepting my answers. Can I run 'em by someone who has them?

Edit *** Got it thanks to some help!

That would likely annoy me too, considering MO for most people isn't Montana, but Missouri. shake

Sorry, should be Missouri. Geography was never my strongest subject.

I just remembered the clue procedure and not the actual state names.

Link to old puzzle.

If you think the 'hard' puzzle is incomplete, you're probably right. Unless there's some ingenious catch I'm not seeing.

Highlight below for how to modify the puzzle to make it behave as it probably should behave. (As suggested by John on the on-Tanga thread)

Spoiler (click to reveal)
Proceed as if the phrases "Dirty Room" and "Send Youth To A War" are also in the puzzle space. And the phrase "The Germans Soldiers" should be "The German Soldiers"
