Thanks Ravi! That did it for me.

Now to figure out the bird crossword. I'm still drawing a blank.

I see the title of the puzzle but it means nothing to me. What am I missing?

Any help there?

I just figured it out, myself.

I'm not sure what the title means, but what you just said is actually the salt you need.

Huge spoiler.

Ignore the color and think, instead, of the gentleman's given name.

I need some more help on the hard one. cry Here's where I've gone so far:
Spoiler (click to reveal)
Tails wins so I thought bub wins. Pal wins. Bub Loses. Pal loses. I can't seem to find any words in there.

Pal is making hot dogs. Bub is making ice cream. Pal's words are red (hot) and Bub's are blue (cold). The penny (heads) seems hot.

I've tried taking the first (heads) and last (tails) letters of of things - the words they spoke (in manner different ways), the words hot dog and ice cream, even the 7 word (7 coins) phrase "we're looking for a one word answer".
I obviously must be making this all too hard.

Here's where I am on the hard one:
Spoiler (click to reveal)
I've considered that we are either taking the first or last letter of each of the 14 words. I am assuming the pattern repeats, but I get garbage. I have tried anagramming what I have, but the words I end up with do not make sense. I've tried flipping the words around, flipping the coins (and thus whether it is the first or last letter), but I still get nothing.

Am I missing anything?

NaCl for the hard one:
Spoiler (click to reveal)
You take the "head" and "tail" of something, just not the words in the conversation. Pay attention to the actual coins.

Yes.

Ignore two guys and their the dialogue -- except for the last line, which is a hint. Focus on just the coins.

Once you use those numbers (1-34) on the 34 letter title, that should give you the directions for the next step.
