Sorry about the delay on this — I used two recorders to get full coverage of the panel so there was some post-production involved.

The panelists were:

Scott Nicholson (Board Games with Scott and On Board Games)
David Coleson and Stephen Conway (The Spiel)
Yours truly
Tom Vasel and Sam Healey (The Dice Tower)
Mark Haberman and Jay Little (The Metagamers)

Plus special guests:

Don Dehm (Pulp Gamer)
Mur Lafferty (too many podcasts)
Chris Miller and K.J. (The House of the Harping Monkey)
J.J. & Victor (Fistful of Comics & Games)
Paul Tevis (Have Games, Will Travel)
The Vicar and the Kingfish (Geeklabel Radio)

oh, and
Joe Steadman

Many thanks to Scott Nicholson for organizing this — it was a great panel of people.

You can get this podcast (and yes, many fine others) at:

Re: Origins 2007 Board Game Podcasters Q&A
This was a fantastic show. Sounded like a lot of fun. I'm sorry I missed it.

Edit: I was just about to post my response to Scott's question about our worst mistakes, when Jay sold me out! I'm glad I could panel vicariously through you guys. :)

Thanks for posting this! I was there last year, but didn't make to Origins this year. I'm glad I could at least listen to it.

Scott, holy sheesh... There has got to be an easier way! O.K., maybe not, but that's alot of work!

Well, there would be three easier ways...
1 - Lower the quality, and record audio right onto the camera, but it's a pretty big drop in audio quality.
2 - Spend more money on the equipment.
3 - Hire people. :)

Thanks, Jim, for taking the time to put the panel podcast together. It was great to meet you and all the other podcast peeps at Origins though we didn't get to sit down and really talk or play games with everyone. Never enough time!

I picked up this little vintage gem at the Origins auction for $6: Pursuit!

We'll surely cover it on our Back Shelf Spotlight segment, but it made me think of your show, too.

Spiel on!

This was a lot of fun to do, even if I was a little late. (Sorry!)

It was great meeting some of you for the first time, and wonderful as always to see old friends again.

Actually, Scott put it together -- I just recorded it.

We really should schedule more gaming time next year, all of us.

And I forgot about the auction, blast it...

Jim, I meant thanks for recording the panel and posting it. :)

And, of course, thanks to Scott for organizing and moderating the event!

It's always hit and miss with the auction, but definitely worth at least one trip through the auction shop to see if there are any hidden gems just waiting for you to rescue them.

Spiel on!

Not being at Origins, I really appreciate that you recorded and posted the podcaster panel discussion.
