I might have this confused with other games with similar names, but I think I've seen a couple posts recently about GMT putting this in the P500 soon? Is that correct?

Someone got an encouraging response when e-mailing GMT that it may be reprinted sometime in the next year or two--you could try e-mailing them as well, maybe they could tell you more.

edit: Wait, shoot, I was thinking of Wilderness War

I believe that they're actually redoing the game. The original designer (I'm drawing a blank on his name right now; sorry() is reworking the game as "Washington's War." I have no idea when it'll hit P500.

We the People was the first game to spawn the CDG revolution. It may not be the best but it is pretty good. And it was the first.

Designed by Mark Herman (also For the People and Empire of the Sun, et al)

It will be we the People with NO Battle Cards, and most likely a few minor changes, (which will be things like the "speedbump" rule, etc.). Won't be quite as good I fear without the battle cards... :(

It will certainly be "different." I don't know if it will be as good or not.

Unfortunately, WtP appears to have been one AH game that actually had a solid copyright, unlike a number of their other designs that Hasbro thought they owned when they bought the company. Witness Valley Games redo of Hannibal and pipeline for several more classic titles from AH.

Unfortunately, WtP is not on that list, and-- while I don't see Hasbro redoing it themselves, they are hanging on to the rights for more than the average game company could pay.

PLEASE no battle cards. I still love the game but hate this aspect.

have you ever tried the 2 variants :
the one without the battle cards (with a CRT then)
and the other that enable you to REPLACE a double enveloppement by playing two identical cards.....

Re: Did I hear GMT is reprinting this?
It's interesting to read what Mark Herman, designer of "We the People" had to say about his new work, "Washington's War" on consimworld about a year ago:

Where can I find more news about Washington's War? It seems like that's the only way I'll get to play We the People.

This thread messed me all up.

1) I'm really into Twilight Struggle as well as the American Revolutionary War... therefore I am really interested in We The People. I want a copy of this game, but I don't want to pay $150.

2) I sent an email to GMT and asked them to reprint We the People. They replied with: "Dude, it's not our game." And I was like, "Oh, that's right, sorry."

3) So then I started reading about this mythical "Washington's War". I'm not holding my breath... as no information has been whispered about this game for more than a year. :(

4) So understanding that a reprint or the phantom Washington's War would not emerge any time soon, I started monitoring eBay.

5) And I finally acquired an unplayed copy for WTP for about $75 (I think I beat the next highest bidder by $.03).

I'm still very interested in a new (or reprinted) Revolutionary War card-driven game, but I'm glad to have WTP for now.

Cheers.
