Wetten Dass ...? » Forums » Reviews
Buy Activity or Cranium instead ...
My wife and I played this with some Austrian friends the other day.

The game has different elements to it including:
1) Pictionary
2) Charades
3) Knowledge questions.
4) Making words from dice that have letters on them.
5) Laying down sticks in a certain arrangement in order to get teammates to guess a word.
6) Guessing whether or not contestants on the German game show called "Wetten Dass...?" were able to accomplish some feat. (Like volleying a ping-pong ball 200 times in 1 minute).

When your team guesses the right answer you earn points to move around a board.

I have never seen the actual game show, but from the feats described on the card it sounds like it would be interesting to watch. But reading the feats on a card and guessing whether or not someone actually was able to do them is not real exciting. We also found the "laying down sticks" task not so easy or enjoyable. Most of the knowledge questions were very specific to Germany - indeed even our Austrian friends could not answer many of them. We as Americans, though we can speak German, sometimes had no idea what they were even about. The pictionary and charades parts were the only parts that were really fun.

My recommendation is spend your money on another good party game such as Charades, Pictionary, Cranium, Activity. You will get all the fun parts of this game and more.
