You guys are doing a great job, but short of being wheelchair bound I really think you should stand up for the reviews. Has anyone else suggested that? You appear a bit ungainly sitting there.

Hmm.... that would actually be more comfortable for me, but I would need a taller table I think. The part you may not realize is that I'm freakishly tall. :)

Home Depot sells table leg extenders (made out of cinder) for about a dollar each.

Just 2 remarks:

No, you can't trade medals in phase III, just money and asset tokens

In phase IV: # spectators = money you receive from the bank. Quite important to get money

I must say I'm curious for your "all-win-strategy". Only played it twice, so I'ven't reached the magic number yet :D

I'll wager a guess as to the winning strategy (since I've seen this done to great effect):

(BTW, I'm assuming Colin didn't mention it in detail on the podcast so as not to ruin it for people who are still exploring the game).

But anyways.....

If you come in last every round you get a free asset token from the person who's winning. That's four free assets. That's huge. Also, you don't want to come in last by a lot, just a little, since you need money.

But the main thing is to always move the dudes so you land on medal spaces. Stockpile those medals for the last turn.

With your four extra assets and a hoard of medals to cash in (or move dudes if it is even better), you can't be beat in the last round.

That's what I've seen happen.

So is the game broken per this review?

How is it that no one else has commented about this in their reviews?

Yeah, I gotta say, I'm not buying the charge that the game is solvable "big time". I saw that comment in the review and wrote the game off as a result. A friend bought it, and we really enjoy it -- much to my surprise since I expected the game to be broken.

I tried but haven't been able to play a big-time solvable strategy yet. I tried the "come in last every time and get an extra token" strategy and it didn't work. Perhaps I didn't execute it correctly, but I was simply too cash poor to do what I needed to do.

In any case, I'm open to hearing how to solve this game.
