It's a question that's been bugging me since there is really limited selection of boardgames here in Turkey. I'm especially interested in ww2 wargames but as far as i know there's just axis & allies sold here.

So.. Do any Turkish boardgamers own games such as Memoir '44 or Eastfront and so on..? If so, where and how did you buy them ?

There's ebay of course but i'm afraid that my shipment would be stuck in customs.

Thanks for your answers.

I have been checking out stores for board games in Turkey every summer when I visit, but I think you are right. The aren't that many stores that carry anything you are looking for. I think your best bet is the import game stores in expensive areas, like in big malls such as Akmerkez. I think there is a store in Akmerkez that sells board games like Settlers of Catan and Puerto Rico. These are areas where a lot of foreigners shop, as you know, and so the stores have been supplying the demand. Somehow Ravensburger puzzles are very popular and sold in various bookstores like Nezih, D&R, etc. but the boardgames are impossible to find. And the price on the Turkish version os Taboo (Tabu) blows my mind every time I go to Turkey (something like $40-50!!!) But I think this is the import effect...
If I ever move back to Turkey, you can borrow my games Your best bet is to find people who travel to Germany and the US often and ask them to bring you games... Game prices in European stores are atrocious!!! (I guess I am used to the very cheap choices I have in the US!) But in the meanwhile, you are correct, your games will get stuck in customs and you'll have to pay an additional $50 to get them out!

Hello, first of all thanks for your answer. I'm wondering on what occasion do you visit Turkey every summer ?

Actually i found a pal here in marketplace that says he had made shipments to Turkey without a problem but we'll see how it will turn out.

Thanks again.

You can buy your games from e-bay. I bought a few games from there without any problems.
