You may be asking yourself "What in R'lyeh is the Munchkin Cthulhu Rigged Demo all about?" Well, I'm here to share things man was not meant to know with you, that you too may be initiated into the cult!

The Munchkin Cthulhu Rigged Demo (MCRD from here on in) is exactly what it sounds like. It is a set of sample Treasure and Door cards selected from Munchkin Cthulhu that are rigged for a quick demonstration. Cursed. (See what I did there?)

In addition to this handy tool, you also get a selection of brand new promotional cards to hand out to your unsuspecting victims...er...participants.
What you get:
As mentioned above, you get rigged set of 9 Door cards and 8 Treasure cards pulled right from the original Munchkin Cthulhu set, 39 promotional cards (more on that below), an overview of how the demo plays out (including a suggested script), and a tuckbox.
The cards in the rigged decks are identical in ability to their counterparts in the base game, but have two cosmetic differences. First, each card has the words "Cursed Demo" printed across the back like so:
This helps ensure that you don't mix these cards in with your regular deck. The second cosmetic change is the addition of a number centered on the bottom of the card. This ensures that you keep the cards in the correct order when setting up your demo.
You also receive 39 promotional cards you can use to entice those of weaker constitution. Muahahaha! Some of these cards have the standard backs and are meant to be shuffled into your Munchkin Cthulhu decks. Others are a new type of card called "Promo cards" (clever name, eh?). These cards also have a new back:
All of these cards are of the same quality as other Munchkin games.
Gameplay:
There isn't much to say about the gameplay of the demo because...well...it's just a demo. It plays the same everytime (in theory).
The promo cards that are included do add a bit of a twist to your games though. There are a variety of effects ranging from exchanging seats with players or being able to add a Monster card to your lineage thus becoming 1/2 Human, 1/2 Monster.
The "Promo" cards are meant to be used in a similar manner to the Bookmarks produced. Each one may only be used once before it is surrendered to another player, thus ensuring you don't become too much of a Munchkin.
Value:
This is a tricky one. For $5 you get all of the above. However, it may not be very useful for some to have a special rigged set of cards to teach other s to play, while others might think this is the perfect way to get friends to give it a brief try.
Ah, but there's the promo cards. Any compulsive collector (guilty) is going to want these, but do you really need 39 of them? And are you going to be able to part with them??? I suppose that's between you and your Cursed Demo.
I personally have use for both, and think it's money well spent, but it isn't for everyone. Heck, if you know a few people who own Munchkin Cthulhu, it may be worthwhile to split the cost (and the cards).
Overall:

I didn't expect to have so much to say regarding such a small supplement, but it's a nice little addition for the Munchkin collector. It won't change the way your game plays, but it is a helpful tool to get others into the Munchkin spirit. The low price, high quality, and wacky effects of the promo cards make this something that I think is money well spent.
