Mix of computer games and board games
Heya

We are a small group of students from Aalborg University, who have created a mix between board games and computer games, trying to combine the appealing elements of both worlds.

We had some pretty good test results concerning the final project/game regarding whether it was actually a hybrid or still just a computer game or a board game.

You can have a look at it for yourself on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSnRb2XsAHI
and come up with your own opinion =)

About the game:
It is the Tower Defence concept from the computer games world, combined with the social and physical elements of the board games world.

It’s a prototype:
We have already made another version of the game with some different gameplay aspects, but there is no video documenting these changes, so we can’t show those atm. =/
But since it is a prototype all sorts of criticism is welcome
Maybe it can help us with new thoughts and ideas, so drop a post here or on youtube with your opinion.

This looks very cool. I thought it was Microsoft Surface at first! Maybe you should go work for them when you graduate.

I've never played Tower Defense but it looks like fun.

Looks interesting to me. In your next video, I recommend that you state what the goal of the game is and how to achieve it. It's hard to know what your unique interface offers, without that information. The Tower Defense that I've played is a multiplayer solitaire game, in which players place towers with differing abilities to stop waves of creeps from overrunning their castles.

Great job on the project, by the way.

thanks for taking the time to read the post and watch the movie - much appreciated =)

And yeah, the movie is a bit shot and non explaining, since it is intended as a appetizer for our exam presentation, but we will try to mix together another one in a few days which might be more explaining.

Once again thanks for the comments

I am no fan of tower defence, but your setup looks interesting and promising! I really like the idea of trying to combine elements of the boardgame and computer game world. You may want to see if you can use some boardgame machanics in the game design as well. Good luck.

Agree with all the above comments. Great Video - Definitely a "teaser". Waiting for an explanation and more on the game!
