Two Wheeled Warriors
The Battlebikes expansion gives you the option of including 'you guessed it' Motorbikes in your games, albeit heavily armoured ones bristling with weapons.

This was the only official expansion for Battlecars. There was the unofficial Battlechairs expansion that was included with the first issue of a magazine called Black Sun many many years ago. This dealt with crippled pedestrians zipping about in tooled up wheelchairs. Also quite recently some guys have devised rules for using lorries, tankers, juggernauts, trucks and what have you, so a big kudos goes out to them.

The Battlebikes expansion is presented in one of those GW bookshelf type boxes, albeit a bit thinner. Just like Chaos Marauders. It includes more of the same stuff found in the base game... a couple of sheets of extra weapon tokens, damage counters, building tokens, the rulebook, reference sheets, and last but not least six Battlebikes and six player sheets.

The difference between Battlebikes, compared to the Battlecars is - although they cannot sustain as much damage, they are far more manoeuvrable at high speeds. They can cut corners of buildings and also turn far more sharply. The riders can also ride directly through tree occupied areas, though this can sometimes result in a nasty crash if you're riding too fast.

A Battlebiker set-up usually involves controlling two Bikes instead of one car. This may seem like an advantage to the bikes, but careless players can be side rammed, which results in the bike skidding over and therefore being unable to fire.

A point of interest to Battlecars fans is - the front cover of the rulebook clarifies some query's and gameplay issues that occurred in the original game, which to me was a nice touch.

Battlebikes is a welcome addition to an already excellent game, if not entirely essential. If you're a fan of the base game, and can find a copy, I recommend you pick it up. It's getting pretty rare nowadays.

Overall:
7 wheelies out of 10

If you visit the Battlecars page here on BGG, there's a PDF conversion of Black Suns Battlechairs.
