This time I once again came with my Wolfen, but chose the Path of Opal theme instead. This gave me +1 INI, STR and RES on all my Wolfen, and opted in each turn to give a Wolfen Fierce on a d6 roll of 3 or higher. My army consisted of the following Wolfen:
Varghar
Repentant
Sentinel (proxied with Wolfen with Crossbow)
2 Fangs
2 Great Fangs
2 Predators
A simple list, aimed at running and hitting, with fire support from the Sentinel who I wanted to screen with the Repentant.
Three Bridges
I faced the same opponent that I had last year at the Open in this scenario. His Drune force was slightly different this time, featuring Balkron in prime position. It turned out to be my undoing. I split my main force in three groups: a Fang, Great Fang and Predator combo for two bridges, Varghar through the ford inbetween them and the Sentinel and Repentant hanging back. Balkron came up to the first bridge, and in a few quick moves (having Implacable as well) wiped out the little group I had sent out to take that bridge. So much for the first round. Round two I didn't fare any better, managing to get a few hits in but never managing to kill anything. Instead, my Wolfen got massacred, mostly by Balkron on his own. So, it all ended with me being completely destroyed and losing the game with no points whatsoever. My opponent got his revenge, since last year I did the same to him in this scenario.

Dark Soul
Another familiar scenario for me, this time played against a Cynwall army. I am completely unfamiliar with the Cynwall and what they can or can not do. I decided to simply run forward with most of my troops and engage, keeping Varghar out of the fray as much as possible. The Cynwall proved to be remarkably resilient though! Also, watching Varghar being double sixed was a bit of a shock, and definitely a loss of points.
Pandora's Box
A completely new scenario, but a very interesting one. The aim of the game is a box in the middle, which is protected by it's own magic. Opening the box equals defeating the box - not alway an easy task! The one who opens the box becomes it's Champion, but also gains Ephemeral/6, which in each round becomes Ephemeral/5, 4 etc. The Champion also gains various stat bonusses, though. Points are awarded for opening the box first, being the army that has the Champion in the end, being the army that is in control (uncontested) of the box in the end, and killing Champions.
My opponent came with an Acheron army, another bunch I was totally unfamiliar with. I sent my Predators straight to the box, as he parked his Cerberus in front of it. My Predators made short work of the doggie, and then one of them attacked the box and defeated it in a single blow! A most unusual accomplishment, as at other tables people's soldiers got beaten up by the box. A lot. My Predator picked up the box and started hitting undead with it, and bit by bit I started rolling up the dead meat. In the last round I managed to kill off the last undead, but failed my final Ephemeral roll, which added a wound level to my critically wounded Champion!
End of story: I nearly ended up with the Wooden Spoon, but I had 1 VP more and slightly less AP destroyed than the loser. All in all, I did have a fantastic day and am very much looking forward to the next one.
