BookShelf Games Video Review
Video Review for Senji.

This is a detailed review of Senji and covers most of gameplay. This one is a bit longer than normal at about 29 mins long.

Nice review, I enjoyed that and you've turned me back on to this, maybe I will pick it after all. Jut wondering if its worth having this and Shogun? I think so, as i love negotiation in games.

Thanks for the great review. I am seriously considering this game.

One small superficial thing bothers me though. From the cards and board in your video it appears that the kanji for "Senji" are reversed. If you read it Japanese style, top-down, it reads "Jisen" which isn't a word. I know that isn't going to make a difference to people who can't read Japanese but I'm oddly fixated on it. Are the non-English versions printed the same way?

Still looks like a cool game though.

Amazing review, Lawrence!

I've had interest in this game for some time and it really does look interesting.

Thanks!

Nice review.

I think you have one thing wrong with the rules:

I think you have to turn in one card of each other player, to get +10 points, and -1 to each of them.

I don't think you can turn in 3 of one player, and 1 of two others, and I'm not sure you can make someone lose more than 1 point, except through more than one set?

score points of honor through diplomatic means: to do so, you must own 5 diplomacy cards of other families (military support, family member or trading). These may come in any combination, provided each color other than your own is represented. By returning them to their
initial owners, you forego the possibility of claiming the associated privileges. This attitude is particularly honorable and earns you 10 points of honor. Moreover, each player having been returned a card in this manner loses one point of honor.

Thanks. Looks like you are correct. I will get a correction posted.

I can think of at least one simple exploit if you play it the way I explained so that does make sense but I also think that it makes it unlikely that people would choose this action very often.

They are similar due to theme and the fact that they have an area control aspect but I think the game play feels completly different between those game.

Thanks for the video review. This game is becoming a favorite of mine. I do agree that the game plays best with 6 in my opinion. Anyless changes the game too much from what I like about it.

So the game is released in English already? *shock* I'm watching the review right now and shocked I don't see any French. O_o

Yes it is out in English. I think it came out a while ago because I had the game for almost a month before shooting the video.

Cool. Do you (or anyone for that matter) know any online sites I could order the game from? My board game group wants it. Thanks much! :D
