Introduction:
Although I'm still a bit new to Descent we (my girlfriend and me) decided to create a quest and play through it. She played as the overlord and I took 3 heroes (2 is a bit few and 4 too much hassle). She adjusted the difficulty a bit on the run, but all in all it was quite close to the quest she had created. I live in Germany and therefore own a german copy of the game, so some translations might be a bit off. Here we go.

The Session:

As already mentioned I played the heroes vs. my evil girlfriend.

My heroes were:

-Varikas the Dead with aura (worst skill ever, got that in exchange for some other bad skill I tossed back), cleave and battle cry.
-Andira Runehand with Vampiric Blood, the one that grants sorcery 1 and Telekinesis
-Vyrah the Falconer with Rapid Fire, Master Archer and Tough (+4 health)

The Starting Area was full of rubble and beastmen (3 and 1 Master or something like this and featured 1 blue rune-locked door and two regular doors that led to 2 corridors, forming an arc around part of the room.
Varikas took down 1 regular beastmen and one master, thanks to cleave and advanced to one of the doors while Andira and Vyrah took down the rest. Unfortunately it was almost impossible to prevent spawning in this room thanks to all the rubble and soon some skeletons popped out of the shadows shooting Vyrah (who was blocking one "passage") and Andira. I simply ignored the skeletons opened the door and found jet another group of beastman and a naga. Varikas battled his way trough the beastman but failed to take down the naga, as did andira (rolled a X I think)and Vyrah, unable to reach the naga due to it grappling the other two heroes took down some of the skeletons and followed.
Some Sorcerers appeared and joined the fray and the naga (or a sorcerer, not sure) took down andira. I spend my next turn killing the naga, running to the middle of the arc (a small 2X2 Area with two doors), opening the door, activating a glyp and collecting some loot (the blue runekey and a silver treasure). The chest contained the disk and scorpion helm for the archer and little else so I was now mostly relying on him to deal the damage.
By that time the overlord appeared to be out of spawns so I made my way back (porting and walking) to the blue rune-locked door in the starting area.
As the heroes gahtered some more sorcerers appeared but failed to severely damage anyone (as I said keeping this area free of spawns was almost impossible).
Next turn I opened the blue door and stormed in only to find my heroes confronted with a dragon, an ogre, 2 skeletons and 1 master sorcerer or something like that with little gold and no potions in the room. I managed to take down the dragon and the ogre thanks to Rapid Fire and Varikas battled some sorcerers and skeletons while Andira was busy mopping up the rest. At the end of the turn only 2 skeletons and perhaps 1 sorcerer where left standing and another overlord turn without spawn passed by.
Andira opened the only other door of the room and found herself confronted with 3 normal beastman and a master and 4 question marks behind them (that was a riddle, but I was too fokused on bashing the hell out of them to notice at that point). So a dead end with something to kill. Andira finished the first beastman and used her telekinetic power to drag Varikas to the now beastman free spot she had just created. Varikas proceeded to battle and take down the rest. Vyrah spent his town running to the question marks, falling in a pit (the first question mark was a pit)and climbing out of it. The questionmark behind the pit was the solution to the riddle (two spaces behind the red beastman) and a new passage opened in front of Vyrah which featured two hellhounds (one master) and 2 spots of fire which damages and blocks line of sight, due to the smoke.
The Overlord spent her turn putting trapmaster into play which later turned out to be a major pain for my heroes.
The hellhounds moved in and managed to severely damage the party, especially Andira.

I moved along the new corridor and bashed both hellhounds to pieces standing a few spaces away from the next door.
Something spawned behind the fire and took down Andira so I would have to find and activate the next glyph the very next turn.
I opened the door and found myself confronted with an impressive collection of evil jet again: 1 Master hellhound, 1 Ogre, 1 Master Ogre, 1 Master Bane Spider in the main room. This room was seperated from the other by some rubble but fortunately there was a corridor leading from one room to the other (which contained 1 master manticore, 1 master naga and one regular naga). Something was waiting in the corridor as well, can't remember what. Varikas moved in, took down the spider and wounded the regular ogre while Vyrah managed to take down both ogres and activate the glyph through which Andira reappeared but failed to take down the hell hound which in turn tried to toast the party but didn't inflict significant damage. The Master manticore was positioning itself just around the corner of the corridor so i couldn't reach it. Nevertheless I had to advance to kill the beastmen there (1 master and 1 or 2regular)which would mean, that one rage card would probably be the end of Varikas and sure enough one raging master manticore later Varikas died a very poisonous death.
Andira moved forward and used her telekinesis to put drag the Falconer along who then proceeded to take down the Manticore and both nagas and activate the glyph in that room through which the newborn Varikas burst, eager to grab another silver treasure which turned out to attract the attention of the monkey god and left Varikas unable to glyph back to the other room next turn (and two turns after that for that matter).
I was kind of cought between a rock and a hard place at that point, because having only 4 Conquest I couldn't afford to leave Varikas behind which would have been the best choice since everything else would give the overlord several turns of time. I opted to protect the undead monkey for two more turns, since I had the Ice storm rune and would be able to blast me a way through the monsters eventually.

Unfortunately Andira got webbed and without her I could never hope to defeat the hordes of things (not the card), that was gathering on the other side of the rubble. After one turn of waiting the web fall off and I finally glyphed back to the other room wiping almost everything it contained out in a single blast.
The next turn I opened the door in front of which I had positioned myself (which exploded) to discover a giant and two doors, one of which was the rune locked door. Vyrah moved in to take down the giant with 3 attacks (because 1 missed) while the rest secured the area. Next turn Vyrah tried to open the unlocked door only to be blasted to ashes by the next exploding door so Varikas opted to fulfill his dead comrade's task of grabbing the rune key that was behind the door. Next turn everyone positioned themselves in front of the next door and the turn after that it got opened ( but not without emitting some gas which I was lucky enough to escape). Inside where 1 Demon, 1 Master Demon (with +2 Armor and+5 Health) and 1 Master Dragon. Andira managed to blast twice but only hit once (for 3, 4 and 1 wound or something like that). Then I forgot that opening a chest costs 2 points of movement which ended up sealing the Monsers doom since Varikas took down the demon (could have done that no matter the treasure) and Vyrah annihilated the master demon which ended things. Otherwise I would only have been able to take down everything but the master demon, which would not have mattered, since it could'nt kill more than one Hero during its turn and I had enough Conquest to survive that.

Thoughts:

-It was extremely close at points, partly because the Quest was adjusted on the fly (though not as much as you might imagine).
-Tier 4 Monsters should be more common, since its not that big of a deal to kill a giant or Dragon with Silver treasure (maybe even good Copper). This is probably the only minor gripe I have with the game and so we tried to change that a bit, which seemed to work just fine.
- it was a lot of fun

Hope some of you do read all of that and have some feedback.
