The PDF of the rules book I downloaded from the Hasbro web site says this:

* Gameboard
* 4 Complete armies in different colors (doesn't say how many of each)
* 42 Territory Cards (9 Good, 9 Evil, 24 Nuetral)
* 2 Wild Cards
* 40 Adventure Cards
* The One Ring
* 3 Red Dice
* 2 Black Dice

That's all I got... hope that helps.

Thanks for your help... What I'm looking for exactly is especially the number of different units per army (and which units are in which army). So the rulebook did not help in this way

Finally, I got the two games sorted out:

- The red expansion cards say "2003" on the red side, while the base game cards say "2002.
- The figure types that belong to the expansion are printed in the rules, EXCEPT:
- one green leader also belongs to the expansion (there are three altogether, one has a different circular base)

That's it - and it was a hard effort. I still don't know the numbers of figures, but I don't think I lost one, so that's ok for me...

Red: Crossbow: 21, Elephants: 4, Wargs: 6

Black: Crossbow: 22, Elephants: 4, Wargs: 7

Green: Men: 22, Horsemen: 7, Ents: 4

Yellow: Men: 21, Horsemen: 6, Ents: 4
