Re: Calling all Brighton gamers...
Hi, I'm in Brighton near Elm Grove.

Looking for a regular boardgames group for weeknight gaming. Ideally in the Queens Park/Hanover/Lewes Road area.

Just sent an email to all Brighton BGGers inviting them to a Yahoo group.
Go to the address below and ask to join the group:

Cheers

Tony

Another one from Swindon here (a newbie on this site so go easy on me!) - I've got a stack of games but not too many opponents yet (Most of my mates are at Uni these days) so any competition or games clubs gladly welcome!

Ta,

Sam

Based in Portsmouth - any other Pompey gamers out there?

I'm a gamer and I live in Portsmouth. Guess that makes me a Pompey gamer.

Me too - I live in Southsea. I really need to update my owned games on BGG; I've bought a few recently. Looks like we might be able to get a group together here!

i used to live in chesterfield, try cogs at the winding wheel if the still exist also in sheffield the sheffield wargames mob (those who run the triples) used to meet at a polish club (sorry location escapes me but if you earch for the triples wargame show it is bound to be linked) while name says wargames there were many members and frequent roleplaying and boardgames played also.

i am in swindon and in answer to the swindon people:

tuesdays at the milton road working mans club 6.30 ish til they close or we get bored (room on the left as you go in)- SWAT Swindon Wargamers and Tacticians. play boardgames (or at least they do if im around) and miniature games

wednesdays- sadwargamers (swindon and district wargamers) www.sadwargamers.co.uk mostly wargames. i havent been for some time so i dont know their curent games but a friendly bunch and a good website.

Reading here...

I play with several social groups at peoples houses based here, North Hants, and South Bucks. Mostly hardcore gamers-gamers...

For Reading itself there is a boardgaming night at Eclectic Games on Monday nights (central Reading - opposite the Train Station)

I think you might have to do multiple searches now as some of us have Country: England (or Scotland or Wales) in our profiles.

I think that folk are going to start regretting that separate countries for the UK were enabled.

Also, if you can have England, Scotland and Wales, where's Northern Ireland?

As usual we Northern Irish are excluded from the 'UK'. Oh well, lucky I'm moving permanently to Scotland on 18th Feb. Then at least I can stop feeling like a second class (UK) citizen .

I even emailed Aldie about adding NI - did a flag and all for him - but he ignored me.

I be in Canterbury, Kent. Would be nice to have the opportunity to play some of the games that I've been hoarding (the missus is a fickle creature and will only play Mystery Rummy and Trivial Pursuit these days!)

Re: Calling all UK gamers...
Here's the deal... I live in Biddulph on the Staffs/Cheshire border. About 8 miles North of Stoke and about 4 miles South of Congleton.

When I can, I go to Shire Games' on Thursday nights in Hanley, and I Highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been.

BUT, my first love is/are wargames, and I only get to do this by Vassal. I Would ideally like to meet up with anyone in the vicinity who loves wargames too.

I'm 53, married, and moved here from the South about 20 years ago. My two grown up sons have flown the nest and I don't have anyone to pester for wargames now

A small group would be ideal, but hey, I'd settle for ONE opponent

I have Memoir '44, Battlelore & expansions, Command & Colours Ancients, Manouver, Tide of Iron, Dreadnought, Duel of Ages & expansions, Tannhauser, History of War etc etc. I even have a Trajanic legion of miniatures which haven't seen the light of day for 25 years.

Drop me a message if you're interested.

Phil.
