How prevalent are board warping issues?
I've read accounts of board warping with this game. Before I decide whether to purchase the game, I'm trying to determine if the warping issues are isolated cases or if there is a general problem with the production.

If you happen to own the game, can you attest to the board warping issues or are your boards showing no signs of warping?

My boards are fine so far, but I've only had them since the 18th of Nov.
They are flexible and I'm sure they will conform to any uneven surface you may put them on. Wether they will stay mal formed is probable, but thay also may be Ironed out between two boards or such.

I received it about 2 weeks ago. No warping to date on the main boards.

I haven't noticed it yet on the battle board and IPC track but assume these will be the first to go. These two items were just pressed cardboard like the tokens and each nation's reference card. The reference cards had a slight warp to them by the time I was done inventorying everything. But the ref cards fit in the compartments and will hopefully flatten out when in storage.

Very slight warpage. The boards tend to slide about just a little. However, this was easily fixed by using four (4) binder clips to keep the three boards together. Used that solution last Saturday and the board was a total non-issue. Certainly not significant enough of a reason to factor into your buying decision.

I played the game on Saturday and there was slight warping on two boards. This was the first time the game had been out of the box.

The warping was no real problem and it didn't spoil the game at all. It's just frustrating that for such an expensive game they didn't print the map on a slightly sturdier board.

I glued my map to a thick cardboard/pasteboard sheet that I buyed in a construction store. Beautiful. The best map I have ever had.

I just played my first game last night (review to come shortly), and only one of the three boards had slight warpage. The Eastern-most board (europe/africa/east US) warped up in the corner where Finland connects to Karelia. More of an annoyance than game killer, I need to get some of those clips.

On the plus side, the steep drop apparently kept the germans in Finland from attacking the russians on the other side of the drop, they must be afraid of hights. :p

Very slight upturning on the edges if mine, but no big issue at all. I use the binder clips mentioned above, and it totally solves the problem. It even keeps the boards connected if one gets bumped when playing.

The corners of one of my boards are very slightly up-turned but it's really nothing to put you off buying it. I think I might tack the boards down when we play next anyway, just to avoid people budging the boards about the place.

I picked up my game the day it came out and from the moment I took the boards out of the box they have been warped. The east and west boards are the worst, curling in three corners each.

I have binder clips on the inside corners to keep the meeting edges together. I have cut rubberized shelf/cupboard liner to match the shape of the board to keep them from moving around and to keep the clipped corners level. Some of the outside edges are still curled up a bit but lucky none of the major action is in Canada.

I don't think this would stop me from buying the game but it is extremely aggravating that the most expensive game in my collection comes with sub-par components. The solution was inexpensive and I would have used the shelf liner without the warping but, I don't think you should have to add anything to your $100 game.

One of the others in my game group has picked up the game also and his boards are fine, so maybe you will be one of the lucky ones.

Picked up two copies found no problems with board warping in either set.

Just incase, I taped the individual boards together with 2" black hockey tape, it seems to work well and looks good to.

Spoke too soon, my friend now says his corners are curling up!

I love the game but...

So disappointing...why can't the boards be like "Tide of Iron?"

I have had my copy for about two weeks. All three boards are warped enough that I have to use the binder clip trick to keep the board steady.

If your board is excessively warped, contact Wizards Customer Service (either here or at the phone number on the back of the rulebook) for a replacement.
