Make Your Own Opoly

It is what you make it and mine are awesome
While MYOO is not a piece-for-piece port of traditional Monopoly in terms of board layout or pieces, it is very much the game you make it, literally.
Being a poet immersed in performing and gigging, I made a version of this that subscribed to that culture. It's a lot of fun, playing a game that reflects exactly what you're interested in down to the money.
There is quite a bit of preparation in the design phase of the game, but you only need do this once. You have to determine properties, name everything, and generate scenarios for what would traditionally be on "Chance" or "Community Chest" cards. The beauty of this kit (since it's not really a game until you make it one) is that elements of Monopoly need not remain as they are. "Properties" may not remain properties in your game; maybe you have a basketball theme and trade players instead. Or maybe you're an all-around geek and deal in various geek-core commodities, like action figures or rare board games (!). The possiblities are essentially endless and every game is as unique as the person - or people, since it can be a great couple/family/community project to design - who creates it.
Had some mild issues with the software (old, a little buggy), but it's a simple program designed for all computers and printers that should have you printing out on the stickers and colored paper that comes with it in no time. The customization on the original version of this kit was a little stale and tight, but a later version has corrected this to some degree.
I was generally pleased with the amount of materials on hand, but if you ever need to print more money, just put more colored paper in your printer and go for it. Or make more cards on cardstock...whatever. You can use the material that comes with the game, but you can also switch it out for better or more fun raw material (maybe you want all of your money printed on marbled paper. Go for it!). The only thing you may want to use as-given are the stickers that go on the board.
Customization extends to every aspect of the game. It comes with some pretty cheap looking player pieces, but I switched these out with little miniatures and "Homies". You could really use anything for this, and I have. The most recent edition comes with standees that you can put stickers of people's faces on if you wish, but it still looks cheap and put-together, if personalized.
All in all, if you like Monopoly, you'll dig this, though it IS NOT MONOPOLY. If you want Monopoly, buy Monopoly; it's cheaper than this. If instead you'd like to manipulate it a little, maybe create some slightly different rules or themes, this kit makes it extremely easy to do. I'm working on my third kit, and designing it is as fun as playing it.
