Playing RPG scenarios with Dorn
I use Dorn to play Dungeons and Dragons adventures.
We play the scenario normally and when a test must be done, we use playing cards. We draw one card for the difficulty of the action and one card for every player. If his card is equal or higher of the difficulty, he succeedes.
When the heroes must give a battle, I unfold a battle mat or the adventure map of the scenario pack and we use miniatures for the heroes and the monsters. I place the scenario monsters on the map and I give them the attributes and skills from the Monster Lexicon.
The players place their miniatures on the map too and the battle begins. The Dornkeeper can summon more monsters every turn, for 4 turns. After that he can not place any more monsters, because the story must go on.
Every map, room or dungeon can have treasures, cave-in, artifacts (I have to create them), a healer, healing fountain or herbalist, traps and teleporters.
So we play a good rpg story and we have maps and a chess-like battles. I'm very pleased with this game. It is so quick, fun and with much strategy. One of the reasons I like it so much is that it is diceless but with tactical movement.
I'm looking forward the expansion. I only hope to be released in english, too.
If anyone knows when is it going to be released and if it is in english, please, let me know.
