Hi,

I've been keeping my eye on this game, thinking if I want to buy it or not. Most reviews are really positive, and the subject of the game really speaks to me.

The only downside for me is that it is a two player game. So my question is:

Can this game be played by more than two people at a time without any expasions and is it still fun to do then?

thanks for any reaction!!! :)

I am a teacher in the US. I have a game club and those students I make play in pairs. They still love the game. I think with adults playing sometimes you will wish it was just you alone but all and all it is a great game with 2 or 4 players.

I hope this helps.

So they decide together what cards to play?

It's a great great game. You can play 1vs1 or more (see overlord rules).
In Overlord Mode you can strictly follow the "chain of command" (1 Commander in Chief and 2 or 3 Filed Generals) or you may "house rule" (we play this way) and battle 3vs3** as it was 1vs1, with Operation Overlord expansion (2 decks, new cards, but the choice for the cards to play is in common).

Sorry for my english :(

** 3vs3 with double terrain board and double deck or 3vs3 with single (the original one) deck and single terrain board.

Absolutely. I have had fun playing with 3 players (2 on one side, 1 on the other), and even more fun with 4 and 6 players (2 or 3 on each side).

We simply let each player take care of their own flank plus the center section. Sometimes we give each player his own hand, and allow them to swap a single card with his mate before each turn. Sometimes they use the same hand.

That's how we play, but I chiefly play with non-gamers. For inexperienced players, I found it useful to play in teams since there's a lot of card interpretation and non-gamers are not acquainted with the weird legalese required to read and interpret Battle Cry and Memoir '44 rules and cards without outside help.

Having someone with whom you can talk through the ramifications of the cards helps reduce misplays and errors. For experienced players, I can't really say, but I would guess they would prefer to keep their strategic secrets to themselves.
