Original Post: We have a small group that plays on monday nights at 7pm in various locations in the west end of Glasgow. If you look at games played in my profile you will get an idea of what we play. It is mostly German board games and card games. The group is very friendly and will welcome beginners and experts alike. If you would to join us please send me a private message and I will get back to you.

Thanks,

Michael.

Hi Paul!

I'm coming to visit you in August, so be fairly warned... and get Puerto Rico ready and waiting.

I just want to say that we are still here and going strong if people want to play boardgames in Glasgow. A lot of people have joined through this thread but haven't posted. We are currently playing in my flat but if the group gets too big to meet here or if people are more comfortable meeting in a public place we can meet at Firebird or the Goat. It might be nice now the smoking ban is in effect. Firebird do fantastic food.

If you want to know what we play take a look at my Games Played. I also play at GUGS, the Glasgow University Gaming Society. You don't need to be a student to join. G3 is another group in Glasgow who I think are more miniatures and CCG focussed. http://g3online.tripod.com/

Thought I'd add another post regarding the group.

I just joined the group in May after finding this thread. I have found it to be a really good group. Everyone is friendly and fun to game with and I was made to feel very welcome when I started.

The group is still going and we still meet every Monday. We usually meet in one of our flats but the smoking ban has meant that the pubs are a more welcoming place to game now. In fact we will be meeting in a pub this week coming.

Unfortunately for a number of reasons (work commitments, travelling distance, people moving away) the core group is a bit on the small side at the moment and so more than ever we would love to have new people join us. Just contact myself or Michael and we can arrange to meet up.

Hi Nick,

I came across this thread when I was looking for a games group in the Glasgow area and I was wondering whether your group still meets on a regular basis? My boyfriend and I recently moved to Glasgow and we would love to meet other people who like to play board games.

I hope to hear from you soon

Best wishes, Anne

Hi Anne,

I don't know if Nick has replied to your message yet. I have been very busy recently and another member Andy has been running the group. We have been meeting at Andy's flat. If you message me your e-mail address I can pass it on to Andy and he will add you to the mailing list. I haven't had a message about this week and I didn't go last week so I do not know what the plan is.

Hope to see you soon,

Michael.

Anne,

Great to hear from you. As Michael said Andy is co-ordinating things at the moment. If Andy does not already have your email via Michael I will send you a GeekMail about the next meeting, which will almost certainly be this Monday.

Nick

There's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying 'til you run out of cake.

If this group still is going, you might want to consider listing an entry in the Wiki. Makes you easier to find as well.

We are still going strong and have about 10 people in the group now, with about 3-8 people coming on any given night. We meet on Wednesdays and play from about 7pm until everyone goes home - some later than others :)

Calum, would be a pleasure to have you join us. Why not drop me a Geekmail with your real email address and we can make arrangements. Hopefully see you soon.

Hi guys, just moved to Glasgow and I'm looking to join a weekly/biweekly board game night. Are you guys still active? Do you have a usual night? Whereabouts? Hope to hear from you.

Hi Andrew,

The group's details are here:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/guild/453
and here: http://www.primordialgroup.com/

Game nights have a notional capacity, but not many of us are there every week so we don't often hit the seating limit. Drop Ian, Nick, or Andy a mail for more details.

cheers,
John

Hey guys, was hunting about for a games group in the area and found a link to this thread. I was wondering if you have any empty seats going?

Hope to hear from you,
