How do you know what is like me and what isn't? I commit to votes on people that I feel have a chance to be a bad guy. I said how I felt about Shugyosha and listed three candidates that I would prefer over him. I stuck with my vote, which I still preferred over Shug.

I'm not going to last-minute snipe someone I don't feel strongly about! That's what happens when you get crap like this!

I long ago dropped the second-guessing of myself, because it leads you down paths like this.

Only passengers with NO OTHER role can be the Cursed... there were originally 7 passengers in the game... the roles in total were reduced by two... therefore there are from 6 to 8 passengers in the game... one of whom may or may not be the Cursed, depending on if it was removed... the 6 to 8 comes from 7 passengers plus the Cursed minus 0 to 2 removed from the game...

You know, that's an excellent question. Latria proclaimed me VERY SUSPICIOUS because Denise has passed the secret handshake (knowing that the cursed is one of the vanilla passengers--information NOT in the rules) and I voted for her anyway. But looking over Denise's posts, I can't find anywhere where she revealed that. Unless I'm missing something, janiera was the one who confirmed Latria's secret handshake.

Latria still stands as a confirmed passenger, though I really don't understand what he's up to.

I don't understand the secret handshake, and I don't understand the "confirmed safe" bit. My gut feel is every person but me is GUILTY!, which is mostly wrong, and not very useful.

Even the best Inquisitors or Witchfinders or whatever it is they call themselves usually have the same accuracy as a drunken rhesus monkey trying to find the magic crack pipe before it goes out.

So where does anyone who is not a wolf or a foolhardy seer get off proclaiming anyone else as confirmed safe? The odds of being right are at least 50% for a guessing passenger and 100% for a wolf. But no proof is provided and it makes so and so look good later if the proclaimee is eventually revealed for sure.

If it's a leap of faith or calculated trust issue, then say so.

The mob comment referred to all of us non-werewolves collectively, not just the ones who actively voted for shug. QED if we had really had strong feelings in his defense, we might have voted a higher number towards someone who seemed more suspicious.

We can't lynch the moderator; it's been tried in other games. :p

There are secret messages everywhere I tell you.

Latria and Denise had that secret society thing going on. I have to HAND it to them as a way to SHAKE things up for the rest of us clueless passengers. Did anyone else make contact with either of these two sneaky, sneaky types? Maybe a third sneaky person? I wonder what kind of society has three members? Mod said there were no masons, and three's an unlikely number of lovers.

The moderator isn't the only one who sneaked something in, by the way. I worry that we're letting codes and messages go by unchallenged.

Christ you guys!!!! I SAID when I voted for Shug that it was a TOTALLY RANDOM vote - if I had any real suspicions of him I would have said so, I always announce my instincts clearly. Why the hell did anyone follow me on that vote????

And for the record, I have NO FREAKIN' IDEA what Latria is talking about with the secret handshake shit. Whatever Latria is up to, I am not in on it. Apparently I've said something that clears me in Latria's mind, but I can't imagine what, and frankly at this point I should be viewed with the same suspicion as everyone else.

We're really not doing well. First the doctor, then the medium?

I'm very sorry I'm not any help at all. I am just a regular vanilla villager. I've been running on about 8 hours combined sleep these past few days and I am very sorry. I am grateful that I do not have a main role. Trust me, I am just a passenger of this ship. Nothing more, nothing less. (Unless I'm cursed, but I dunno.)

Since Latria's lying low, and since I've admitted to missing the secret handshake, I'll go ahead and clear this up. Back at the very beginning of the game, agnespoodle came online and claimed to be a villager. Latria set a test for him:

Latria wrote:
You know, it might be a good thing to lynch passengers in this game.

Those who are passengers will know what I am talking about.

I am a passenger.

Agnespoodle, do you know what I am talking about?

Agnespoodle didn't know what he was talking about. What Latria was clearly fishing for was this:

Janiera wrote:
I will remind everybody that the Cursed DOES NOT know that they are the Cursed... One of the vanilla passengers is the Cursed... and they do not know that fact...

If Latria can believed (and some *genuine* vanilla passenger ought to chime in here if this is not the case) this information was in the role message to vanilla passengers. The part about the cursed not knowing they were the cursed is in the rules, the part about a vanilla passenger (possibly) being one of the cursed was NOT in the rules, which is why Latria could use it for a "secret handshake". Given Latria's game-balancing history, I can only assume that means he thinks the odds are still against us :).

The trouble is that no one, as near as I can tell, actually shook on this. Denise did realize that the cursed were not cursed, (so did I, though I'm not sure I used that in the post) but that's in the rules, so means nothing. Everyone who made some sort of statement that implies they didn't know the cursed was a vanilla passenger is therefore not a vanilla passenger -- or didn't read the role message closely, or forgot, or couldn't tell what Latria was fishing for, or is just trying to make others *think* they aren't a vanilla passenger. Who knows. The other flip side of that is being a non-vanilla passenger isn't necessarily a bad thing. Better to lynch a vanilla passenger (who might be the cursed) than to lynch a good special role--like a doctor for instance. (Shugyosha claimed to be a "plain passenger", for what it's worth.)

Here's a probably non-exhaustive list of people who either didn't know what Latria was fishing for, or made apparent in their posts that they didn't realize cursed was a hidden role for a vanilla villager:

agnespoodle
dalestephenson
jmilum
alexfrog
shugyosha
seanp
xlorp
Denise

Here's the people confirmed by the secret handshake:

Latria

The ratio's too large, IMO. I think we've got some vanilla villagers up in the eight I listed, and Latria was being too subtle.

The trouble is that lynching suspected specials isn't necessarily in our best interest. And without using the P-word, I don't see how we can separate the wolves on that list from the humans.

Edit: Added Denise to the list of people who don't know what Latria's talking about. Since I responded to her message, obviously she belongs on the list too!

CRAP!! I get back from a nice evening of gaming and find two specials dead. I have some good news and bad...... The good is we can get a wolf tomorrow, the bad is we will lose another special in the process:

I AM THE WITNESS, SEANP IS A WOLF

I wanted to go ahead and use my power tonight as I didn't feel that the fubared voting today would give us anything to go on tomorrow. I didn't want another repeat like that. It might have been hasty and I've signed my death warrant, but I think I have served my purpose on this island.

I can just guess what will happen next.....

Oh please. That's a pretty desperate attempt this early in the game isn't it? Let's see... who did agnespoodle vote for yesterday... yup, jmilum. I bow down in wonder at your wolf-spotting capabilities.

Just to clarify for everyone else, I am 100% human, no wolfish tendencies. I'm guessing the witness got a view of the wolves, and this is a pre-emptive strike. If you've got to lynch me to prove it, that's fine, but in the meantime I suggest we continue hunting for wolves. Don't waste the whole weekend on a landslide vote.

And just because of the vaudeville setup for jmilum, I

VOTE xandryyte

although I suspect Latria and Noaceyet as well. I wonder who jmilum's friends are...

Re: Werewolf: Curse of the Lighthouse 2 - GIP
I think we can safely assume seanp will counterclaim. Looking for interesting posts:

jmilum makes false plain passenger claim.

seanp claims deja vu, but guarantees he is not a werewolf.

seanp begins the voting by voting for PerfectSim411, choice appears random
xlorp [eaten] votes for seanp

jmilum votes for Rev. Pete, frivolous reason

seanp accidently reveals ignorance of cursed role, defends agnespoodle, calls for seer to check him
jmilum also defends agnespoodle

seanp puts second vote on noaceyet (putting him in danger of lynch most of the day), for voting second on agnespoodle and asking for protection for no good reason.

seanp and jmilum deny being werewolves, in back to back posts. seanp's denial is longer.

agnespoodle votes jmilum (1st vote)

seanp pleads for xlorp to move his vote, asks if we should revert to "kill the silent players". At this point, seanp still only has one vote.

jmilum answers agnespoodle briefly.
agnespoodle appears peturbed that jmilum doesn't feel threatened, leaves vote where it is

xlorp responds to request, moves vote off seanp to Denise.

seanp bemoans that votes are thrown around randomly for no reason.

agnespoodle thinks seanp, me, and xlorp aren't wolves (one of these is now verified)

jmilum kept the vote count up. seanp seemed to have more playful banter.

And the answer is--I don't know. I think it depends on why xlorp was eaten. If xlorp was eaten on a seer hunt, that casts some suspicion on seanp. Of course, that seems like it'd be a risky move for the wolves to do, since if xlorp HAD been the seer, seanp would be too obviously fingered. I'm not sure which side Occam's razor would fall here. Latria, you've been a wolf lots of times. Care to comment on this from the werewolf point of view? Would they eat a possible lucky seer, or not?

Seanp appears more intense to me on Day 1, but I don't know the play styles of either well enough to know if that's normal or not.

Both witness and wolf (whichever one is which) agree on not lynching agnespoodle. In return, agnespoodle suspects jmilum and clears seanp. Don't know what can be read out of that. Neither of the two were in any real danger of a Day 1 lynch, I think.

We've got plenty of time for discussion, so I'm not in a hurry to cast my vote.
