Race Day is fun, and it's sad to see another game go by the wayside, but in the same Geekmail post that I got this notice, I also got the link to that Race Day downloads site with the tons of custom made expansions. Very cool. And Race Day is a simple enough game that those of us that enjoy the game can easily make endless expansions and variants and additional cars.

Darn. I just got into the game. Oh well, maybe this means discounted prices on the remaining stock...

This is a shame. My son and I really enjoyed this game and the rules actually work. We will have to buy some packs to make sure we have enough cars for future races.

Poor Mark Tuttle--he can't catch a break. First he bails from the flaming wreckage that is/was Decipher, only to land at the company that has quickly become Decipher's heir apparent in terms of poor management and the innate ability to anger their customers repeatedly.


This is why I don't do collectible games anymore. Either they get cancelled far, far before you're ready for them to (Sportsclix), or they grind out endless expansions as quickly as they think they will sell until you are buried by them (Upper Deck's VS. System).

Weird question, but with this game being cancelled, does anyone have any guesses on how long it will take before retailers begin to discount the packs? I've found a Wal-mart near my house that has packs available, but I'd prefer not to pay the $4 per pack or the $10 for the starting pack. Not cheap, just a lot of money spent on other games.

Check out any gaming stores in your area. They tend to discount the quickest since shelf space is more of a premium for them than the big stores (Wal-Mart and Target). I have yet to find a Wal-Mart or Target with RaceDay discounted. In 2 instances, they pulled product. Typically, this is what the big stores do. They pull the product rather than discount it.

The game wasn't that bad. Not great, but not bad. Game suffered greatly from the typical WizKids lack of support and lack of forethought. The game never had a shot of succeeding.

The Walmart up here in Minnesota had them all 50% off - surprising that it wasn't country-wide. Maybe in the larger NASCAR markets they haven't done that yet. Are you in a large NASCAR market, say North Carolina or anything like that?

Some small retailers may not post sale prices, but if you talk to the right person and make and offer, they may accept. I know of one store that rarely marks things down, but the regulars know that if the make an offer to the owner, he most likely will accept and clear the shelf-space.

Yea, I'm in South Carolina. Maybe I'll swing by the Wal-mart early next week and try to make an offer.

I've been by the local game stores, and none of them offer the game from what I could see. Too bad.

I went out to lengths to buy Race Day online since it is not available in U.K. For me, despite being a collectible game, it plays well as a "non-collectible" since as long as I had enough different cars (6 to 8 in our games), it was playable irregardless of rarity. Also, none of us are aware of which NASCAR star they may be but still enjoy the gaming mechanics very much.

This game will remain popular and be played for time to come I hope. For me it joins Netrunner as another good game, discontinued before its time.

What's the link to the Race Day downloads site with the custom expansions? I looked around but couldn't find it.
