Here are some activities I recently developed that could be useful in the early days of the school year. Please consider passing these along to any teachers who might find them or the other content on the blog interesting.

Pegged - a computer social game with a lesson plan for writing in a variety of subjects:

Why Did the Chicken...?:
Based on the hilarious party game by Kory Heath, here are some resources:
A mythology edition "flipchart" for interactive whiteboards. This has been my most popular recent flipchart game.

And here's a Flash version I created to be played pass-n-play style:

Say Anything:
This is another simple flipchart game. It's based on North Star Games' great party game and it includes a few questions that work well for the return to school.

I added a lot of things about my critical thinking games based on my own What's It to Ya? game:

And last of all, I did a short series of reviews of computer game creation tools. Here's the final installment that links to the previous ones:

I truly wish our networking folks didn't block game sites. These, and things like VASSAL would be awesome for classroom use.

Re: Game based classroom activities for Back to School
Hi Clark!

Luckily I am the networking folks in my district...at least the filter part of it.

In this case, though, the Pegged game is really just a file in my shared DropBox, so you might be able to access it. The other ones I listed are just presentation files you download either from the Promethean Planet teacher site or my DropBox folder again.

I do have the Flash games hosted on the Stencyl Arcade site, which is probably blocked, but all links to my blog are to other locations that might not be.
