I know... I know... Its been a while since my last update
I've begun painting some of the figures and have selected and painted (roughly) the elders and the shadow track marker. I'm still experimenting with color choices. I like the way they come out with more earth tones than flashy colors. Granted Lady Hanbrook is in purple as it was a very expensive color in the day and I wanted her to stand out from the typical commoners around town.
So here they are:
Sorry for the quality, I had to take the picture with my phone.
At first I was going to scratch build the buildings then came across some really great paper buildings from David Graffam.
The pdfs have multiple layers so I can print out multiple versions of the building and have them look different with textures, windows, etc..
the center piece of the town will probably be the village pub for the town hall
the church will be the village chapel
they even have ruined building that I will use for the abandoned keep.
the manor will wind up being a composite of different buildings to make the size and shape I need.
the only building not offered by David Graffam was a windmill. Luckily Fat Dragon makes one:
I still have not found a suitable model for the light house but I will cross that bridge when I come to it.
only issue I am coming across now is the sheer size of the boards, escecially the coast expansion. since the buildings from each expansion are not to scale with each other the coastal town of Tidewater will wind up being quite large in comparison to Shadowbrook. right now the rough sizes I am looking at for each board is the following:
Echo Lake 3x2
The Coast 3x4
that would give the whole piece once complete a rough dimension of 3x9 feet which will look rather impressive! IMHO
My first order of figures have come in from Blue Moon manufacturing, remember these are 15mm so roughly half of the size of the figures that come with hte base set.
(Obvious what this is. it comes with 6 horses, so 2 are slated for the two ally cards: horse, and.... umm horse)
15HOR-113 Headless Horseman, Sleepy Hollow Townfolk, and Ichabod Crane
amazing pack of figures to include the headless horseman both a mounted and dismounted version
another great batch of figures. so many character to choose from for elders, heros and allies
interesting figures in here. more suitable for heroes or villian types
15LOM103 British Line Command
this is for some militia leaders and soldier types (hero and ally)
15LOM101 British Line Marching
This pack is for the militia and some of the ghost soldiers
15HOR-103 The Children of the Night
These are actually pretty big, and I have planned to use these as the Barghest hounds and I will be picking up some smaller ones from a different manufacturer

As much as I am a fan of ATOE, I feel it needs more. So I've begun a project to "improve" the game. Not so much the game play but more of the look. I'm building a 3D board to incorporate the base game and the two expansions. With the release pending for "The Coast" I've been able to snap shot enough of the video from GAMA to start my planning for how to handle that area.
Now the general data:
Scale will be 15mm. Since I'm planning this at a 1:1 ratio to the board doing it in 25mm would be too large so I've decided to reduce the size of the figures to make it work.
each board will be approx 2 foot by 4 foot. to accomodate the scope of what I would like. the echo lake board might be slightly smaller as the buildings in the image are slightly larger than the ones from the base set. so Echo lake might wind up being smaller.
the figures will come from a few different manufacturers with the bulk coming from Blue moon manufacturing as they have a great line of horror including the headless horseman and similar characters.
finding the right buildings has been difficult so I am planning on scratch building them.
