A new batch of Eclipse trays is now available.
I've listed 13 sets of 9 and 4 sets of 6.

www.EagleRiverGames.com

Orders will be mailed 1-3 business days after ordering.

------

If you're not familiar with the Eclipse trays, they are laser-cut acrylic trays intended to keep the resource cubes on your Eclipse player mat lined up and resistant to being scattered by an accidental table bump.

Product Prices:
6-tray set: $18
9-tray set: $27

Shipping Fees:
USA - FREE
Canada - $4
Everywhere else - $6

Here are some pictures:

As shown on the bottom photo below, the trays are a low-profile design, performing their function without visually impacting the play experience. These trays do not have "bottoms" or "tops" on them. They're just grids that are very effective in keeping your cubes in place.

*** Your cubes will rest directly upon the player mat, as intended. ***

Fellow BGG member Warren Smith put together a great video showing how easy the trays are to use.
Just sprinkle the cubes on top of the tray, tap/shake the tray a bit, and the cubes fall right into place.

Dear FLGS, We need to talk.

mbmbmbmbmb
Dear FLGS,

We need to talk. You see, I've met someone online. Someone who can give me the same thing you give me, but cheaper.

I'm not going to give you the "it's not you, it's me" speech, because ... well, it actually is you. We can still stay together, but you're going to have to make some changes.

Do business a new way. Cross-pollinate with other markets. Also, start thinking of yourself as a service. There are many ways you can do this. Here are a few:

• Share retail space. You know the cafe (or coffee shop, bookstore, pastry shop) next door? Knock down the interior wall and share an open retail space. You'll both get extra customers you otherwise wouldn't get. As strange as it seems to us gamers, the prospect of walking into a game shop is intimidating to many people. It can seem like barging into a private clubhouse uninvited. Your job as a business is to eliminate that false barrier. Get people into your shop that otherwise wouldn't wander in.

• Invest in a laser cutter to put into your shop. Make unique game components and organizers for sale in your store. Do custom engraving of gaming accessories. Your goal as a retailer is to offer unique items and services that your customers won't find through the online game shops. Give them a reason to come into your shop other than the opportunity to overpay for identical products they can get cheaper online.

• Start being a service-oriented business. Stop thinking in terms of selling products. Offer services as well. Some examples:

Quote:
• Local trade market - On your website and at a kiosk within your store, setup a game trading service where users can advertise game trades. For a small fee, you will act as a broker for the transaction. Customers can drop off and pickup their trades in the shop at their convenience, eliminating the need to coordinate a meet-up with a stranger or pay for shipping. When the trades are dropped off, the store will verify the condition and completeness of the trade item against the listing, ensuring that both parties get what they expect. After drop-off, the website emails the other party of the trade to let them know. Your store could also hookup with that other game shop across town and form a trade network, in order to give multiple dropoff points. Not only will you make broker fees for each trade, but you'll also get customers more frequently into the store. More visits can translate into secondary sales.

• Local workshops/seminars/classes - Offer painting classes, game design workshops and fiction writing seminars. Promote a gaming culture. Don't just be an endpoint sale to your customers. Be a beginning.

• Offer a playtesting service for designers worldwide, and free fun beta testing opportunities for local customers. For a fee, any designer can send you a copy of their game, and you will manage playtests. The playtests will be conducted in a private closed room of the store. The designer will receive a DVD video recording of the session, as well as feedback forms from the players. For an additional fee, a moderator can record and lead a post-game discussion group with the players, on topics suggested by the designer. If conducted in a fun and professional manner, this kind of market information is very valuable to designers. On top of the fees, you'll also be getting customers more frequently into the store to play in these free fun events. Again, more visits can translate to more sales.

These are just some starting-point ideas. Once you change your outlook on our relationship, the possibilities are boundless. I really do love you, my dear FLGS. We can still be together. I want to be together. Please give me a reason to stay. Any reason.

Sincerely yours,
cbs42

Thank you to everyone who stuck with me during a ridiculously long set of production issues. I've resolved them now, and I'm ready to move forward with full production. I've listed 15 sets of 9 and 15 sets of 6, as well as a number of custom orders that are being filled for various reasons.
