As of now, I am up to 48 action cards. I am still playtesting a base 10-15 cards, so will see how it goes.

Status report on playtesting the action cards for Trollin' (up for more playtesters)

So, I tried the some of the action cards out solitaire, 2 players and also with 3. I did the game with 4+, without the cards, and it went well. So, time to try single player and a few others. I did cap off the cards used for a game to 10, which seemed to work well. In addition, I am using chips to track what cards were played. By having the chips equal the number of cards in play, and using them as a timing mechanism, issues of game length work out. I also have a limit of a card being only used once per game (there is one card that allows players to score one point each time played on, and it can be played on more than once in a game).

Overall the concept went really well, with the cards adding another dimension to the game. I do need a bunch more playtesting and ironing out how the cards work. For example, one thing I found is what I thought a cool power of a Sock Puppet card giving a player a second hand just didn't work. It got changed to a player having the option to score no points for the round.

Well, on to more playtesting and so on. Hopefully I can get some more playtesting in with the game.

So, all I can say is I could be up for some people who want to playtest. I could get you the cards, and you could print out and try it. I would be up also for input into other things also. My goal is to go commercial with the cards. I am thinking of having a base set of maybe 15 action cards for the game, and then do an expansion with a bunch more and equipment for 5-6 players. I am currently up to 40 cards to try out.

Making Trollin' commercially viable with the use of rule breaking action cards.

My next step in developing Trollin' is to act action cards players can use to change the rules. I am going to try a bunch out and see how it goes. I am looking to have things like, "You Mad Bro?", "Flamewar" and other actions players can do, as a way to tweak scoring and other parts. Think of powers like in Cosmic Encounter, but not permanent through all hands. The game will be inspired by different areas on the Internet where trolling and flamewars happen. Some cards may offend purists some areas, but it is more like trying to mirror what things represent as a play mechanic that works, that trying to do satire. In short, simulate Internet trolling and flamewars through the use of a trick-taking card mechanic.

Will see how it goes. It goes well, I may have a commercially viable product that plays well. My hope is that the game will end up inspiring people to come up with their own cards.

I had been tweaking InVicio. The rules change:

This is an additional win condition. A player can also win if they occupy 7 of the 12 middle spaces (those not around the edge) of the board. I found it did speed up the game some.

I figured I would give a plug for my Facebook group. I am currently taking a break from putting up game videos, as I figure what to do with the channel. I have one more video I will be looking to make available over the weekend.

More info in this video...

Proposed rule changes for Trollin' game for 4 or more players.

I managed to do more playtesting tonight, with 4 players and am proposing the following as a rules change for 4 or more players:

Recommended play for 4 or more players: Use the entire deck of 52 cards, and two Jokers. Cards that aren't used are flipped face side up, for view (they are shuffled in at start of next round/hand). There is no declaring Trollin'. In this, a player who takes all available Poison (Heart) cards (and their opponents took none) ends up scoring 1 point for each trick they won, and no other players score any points for the round/hand (the player by winning all available Hearts was Trollin').

A game based upon the Poison universal mutator is up (Trollin')

So I had proposed a universal mutator called Poison. I decided to base a game around it. The game is called "Trollin'". You can see it here:
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/182389/trollin-trick-tak...

I will look to get instructions up on it sometime. The idea is to not take the most cards of a given suit, or you score no points. It was inspired by Internet flame wars, so thus the name "Trollin'". Even more core to it was the concept of social justice and the sphere of the Internet calling for "checking your privilege" as a basis for a cardgame around it. Idea I had was most trumps won being a penalty, but that didn't work as well, so it shifted to just having a suit that you didn't want to take the most cards of, that was NOT a Trump suit (it then became a Universal Mutator).

Anyhow, stay tuned for rules and so on.

Edit: The rules were uploaded. They are in PDF format. Stay tuned for they appearing in the entry on here.
