Hey BGG,

Long time no update (again!), been very busy with AP Testing the last few weeks. Only 2 more weeks left of school ^_^ We have a lot to show this time: Dust, Heavy Gear, some painting shows and a bunch of post-apocalyptic terrain.

First up, a game I have never painted before, Heavy Gear. These models are from the Utopian Army:

Next these models were painted by Adam for BGG user Cardboard Carnage:

This set of Wargames Factory Sci-Fi Shocktroopers was also painted for Cardboard Carnage (look out for them in the upcoming contest!)

These DUST miniatures were painted for the Dust Tactics 2011 World Champion, Christopher Smith.

Anima Tactics to Gaming Standard for a Canadian customer:

A combination of three Fall Peadot German Armies, some of the Studio's display models, and two sets for customers in Switzerland and Australia. This army won Gold in collections at Scalefest 2012 (see end for more )

Some more DUST models:

Worked on the post-apocalyptic city. So far it is generic but I will add posters probably to represent WWII-era Great Britain for Dust. Also working on a 4 foot long church to take the rest of the space.

As a 2x2 Demo table:

Some pictures of theguildlc's table:

And an armored train to go on it:

At a game store:

Yesterday I went to both Scalefest 2012 and ReaperCon, here are the results:

ReaperCon: 1 Bronze, 1 Silver. Scalefest: 4 Gold (one not pictured), 3 Silver, Best Juniors Model

Nightwing model I painted for a friend won Gold and Best Juniors model.

Sgt. Timofeyeva won 2nd in Movies & Media, All Scales: Science Fiction

Aria won Bronze in Painters at ReaperCon:

The Zverograd 1747 Diorama won Silver in Open at ReaperCon:

The rest of the show pictures can be seen here:

Some Flames of War painted by Alex:

Hi everyone,

Long time no update, but we have a lot to show. First up, Dreadfleet Round 2 is finally finished. Here are the four sets.

The Wind markers are different this time:

And the individual ships:

A preview of the next project, 3 sets of 1-48 Combat.

I painted the terrain pieces included in the game and made a 2x2 table:

A set of Earth Reborn:

Some Reaper Miniatures (Thank you Ed, CEO of Reaper for giving these to me ^_^)

These are the Bones models from Reaper, the goal of these was to produce the cheapest models. Despite the price, the detail on the models are still really good, comparable to metal and resin models. The material of these models are a type of very soft plastic.

Some Dust Tactics models:

These are on eBay at the moment:
http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=4&cam...:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Some repainted AT-43 models:

a 1:35 Scale Dust Diorama:
Raketentruppe - Zverograd 1947

This diorama feature Sigird Von Thaler, a popular character from the Dust Universe created by Paolo Parente and a Raketentruppe (Rocket Trooper) Light Assault Trooper equipped with Rocket Packs navigating the fictional, ruined city of Zverograd deep inside the Sino-Soviet Union.

Some of theguildlc's Chechens for Brink of Battle: Skirmish through the Ages. Brink of Battle is a Skirmish game that can be played in any time period with any models of any scale. For more information about this game, go here:
http://www.brinkofbattle.com/

My Fallschrimjager Army for the same game.

And lastly, the results of the Lone Star Figures show that I went to on the 31st of March. Here are some of my figures I entered:

And the results, I won a Bronze in Historicals Open and Fantasy Painters. In addition I won one of the special prizes, the Deider Mattingly Displayers Award. The best part of the show was meeting a lot of famous people.

Julian Cabos, Owner of Andrea Miniatures who came all the way from Madrid Spain:

With Anne Foerester, Head Painter at Reaper Miniatures and designer of the Reaper Master Series paints, from Denton Texas:

Martin de Leon, owner of Planet Armor from San Antonio Texas

Chris Mrosko, famous scale modeller and CEO of PMC Miniatures from Saint Louis Michigan

Also among the people there who I didn't get pictures with were Doug Cohen, Ander Hitz, and Bill Horan.

Thanks for looking,

Hi all,

Really late update this time, I've been snowboarding in Taos, New Mexico, back with a huge update on our projects (will post boarding pictures at the end if anyone is interested!). Did another Earth Reborn painting marathon and finished 7 sets. We have done something like 15 plus of these now and are retiring it from our services after we finish the ones scheduled in the future. Also did a lot of work on the 4 Dreadfleet sets.

I'm going to start this off with the WAMP II Results, I'm really surprised I won, and 3 awards out of 5 categories too!

4th Place Everything Else

3rd Place Historical

2nd Place Terrain

WiP of the ruined city:

Dust Tactics Konigsluther:

Some of the Dust Heroes painted by Patrick:

And a Fury of Ivan:

Custom Angel's Konigsluther:

Some rebased Premium Set models and AT-43 repainted for DUST.

Dreadfleet sets:

Tried to do some airbrush effects, think they turned out well!

A not so great picture of a Warmachine Solo and two Rangers:

Another painting marathon, this time seven Earth Reborn sets:

Alternate Paint Scheme Set:

Also Lazuli Painting would like to welcome out newest artist, Adam Pratt, here is some of his work including custom toys:

Also made a really cool snowboard out of texture spray paint, only the sides were painted black, total paint time less than an hour.

Thanks for looking everyone!

Snowboarding pictures for those interested:

Instead of just taking the lifts this time, my cousin and I took a 2 hour hike across the ridge to get to Kachina Peak and board down from there, the view from the top is just incredible.

One of the scariest parts of boarding down the ridge.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Quote:
The world that we knew is gone, the old civilizations cremated in flames of their own incitement…

A status quo had arisen. Each nation fearful at striking out at its fellows for fear of retaliation, of mutual annihilation. Not one of them wished to stand down, to be subjugated, and to be incinerated alone. But in an instant, the precarious balance had crumbled.

Bombs fell, buildings toppled, cities burned, and civilizations were annihilated as weapons of unseen power wrecked havoc across the globe. Titanic ships roamed the seas and giant planes thundered through the skies. The Earth rumbled, the land shook, and the oceans raged as fire fell from the skies and a sea of atomic fire swept across the globe. Over two thousand years of human progress was reduced to ruin.

Entire cities were leveled with thermo-nuclear weapons; those not erased were left to waste in a new world. Plagues born from the infernal cocktails of biological weaponry swept across continents murdering without quarter and forever altering those who resisted their effects. The land was polluted beyond restoration. The rivers were choked with acid; forests not burnt grew into virtually inhospitable jungles of alien flora. The sky was chocked with an impenetrable cloud of poisonous ash and sulfur.

The devastation was total, the planet doomed to extinction. It seemed impossible that anyone could survive. But out of the ruins, fragments of a few proud empires continue to wage their perpetual wars among each other and ideologies anew…

To begin the perpetual tread towards extinction once more…

-World in Ruins Introduction

------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,

Pretty big update this time since I missed one for last week. Also for those waiting for their Earth Reborn set, we will be doing them next weekend!

First up is a City Gaming board 4x4 for Dust Warfare and our soon to come game, World in Ruins. I'm going to try to get as much detail in this board as possible including flooring and lots of rubble. The streets are wider than I had liked since it needs to fit a Super Heavy from Dust.

Original Plan marked with tape on the floor:

Buildings:

For Scale:

All was built from only 5 boxes of Operation Cerebus:

The Dreadfleet games are really close to being finished, most of the terrain still needs to be painted. Tom is without a camera so unfortunately I cannot get a picture of those yet.

Next is Dust Tactics, finished a Core Set and an German Army.

Hi Everyone,

We're back again today with a completed Dust Tactics set, Super Dungeon Explore, and Dreadfleet. Also I am finally able to post more about a secret project, information at the bottom.

Super Dungeon Explore Heroes:

That set was a bit of a pain, I really liked the models, but the eyes are just recessed a bit so I have to pretty much freehand them

Original Dust Tactics Core Box painted by theguildlc:

These models were painted in theguildlc's famous Fallschrimjager scheme and the Allies are in the color of my first ones. The weathering ont he vehicles came out especially nicely in my opinion.

WiP of another Urban Themed Dust Tactics set:

Dreadfleet:
Sorry for the lack of pictures, elotsip needs new camera, but most of the models are nearing completion. The Dwarf and Chaos Dwarf ships are done and the rest of the evil models are near. I worked on the Shadewraith and the High Elves ships, but ran out of the shade of green I was using on the ships so the sails are still unpainted. I will update this space if I am able to get pictures soon.

Not really painting related, but I moved the tables around to get more room and saw how messy the paint station was:

Solution, spray painted black:

Here is the room now:

The Warmachine Army finished:

Also a note for Earth Reborn, there are three out of ten slots left for the March timeframe painting, message me if you are interested.

Now for the secret project, a few posts ago, we posted concepts for some figures. We are working on some miniatures hopefully for our own game soon, the pictures of the sculpts we are receiving look amazing so far. For the models, we are stumped on the names for the models and the game. For this contest, the winner who gives the best name for the Renegade Army and name of the game will receive a free set of models of either faction when they release.

The first faction is the Lazarians, these are really rough pictures and Nina is currently drawing up a final version:

The next faction, are renegades, no idea for a name yet, so please help us out for some free models:

More updates on these models soon!

Remember in addition to the naming contest, we are still running the one for the blog, see details in the last post, the prizes will be Angela and Chef from the Dust Tactics Operation Cerebus Set.

Hey everyone,

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been really busy with school events, I Doubled Lettered in one week. Went to State for FBLA in Website Design and took 2nd at Model United Nations at UT Austin. I medaled in AcaDec too, but unfortunately the team didn't advance to State.

Enough about school, on to the pictures:

Billy and I worked on the Cygnar Army, here is the progress after one week, most of the time was to assemble the models. Billy put everything together and airbrushed them in Citadel Mordian Blue and I got to work on painting everything.

Contest information at the bottom of the post!

The two Hero models:

Some Heavy Infantry:

A Warjack:

I am almost done with our seventh Earth Reborn set. We have an eight one lined up for this month also and than there will be another ten or so.

Hello everyone,

Time for another update. We have finished 4 sets of Earth Reborn and have 2 to go. Also we are doing another sign up for these sets in March (details on the Earth Reborn page or message me for details), there are 2 slots out of five left.

Anthony and I worked on the Descent minis today. I really dislike the models, but we are going to auction the set when it is completed. If anyone is interested in buying it, message me.

Also we have worked a lot on the second round of Dreadfleet sets. Here are the water bases and a few ship WiPs.

Patrick has started to work on a Dust Tactics commission:
Allies test scheme:

Some of Billy's Ork for his personal army:

Lastly, I thought I would post some pictures of the DUST-DAY Argentina Event. None of us were present at the event, but Lazuli Painting painted up the US 1st Combat Rangers Army for the DUST-DAY event. The raffle money helped DUST-DAY fund the event and promote interest in the Dust Tactics Game.

Thanks for looking everyone and hope you all had a Happy New Years!

Hi everyone, our last post of the year. We wish all of our readers a safe and enjoyable holiday. Here are some quick last paintings of the year.

First up, this isn't a painting, but some concept art we have for a future miniatures range. The drawings are very rough at the moment, but here they are. I won't say anything else on this project yet, keep lookin on this blog for updates. Drawn by Nina Roloff (accepting 2-D art commissions, contact for details).

Exciting news of Lazuli Painting, we have added another two artists to our team bringing us to 6 artists to finish those commissions as fast as possible. Here is some of Patrick D's work:

More work from him in the future, Patrick is currently working on a Dust Tactics commission.

Anthony is our 6th artist to be added. He has not previously worked on miniatures but has done a variety of 2-D art. Here is us working on a Dust Tactics commission:

We are trying to get artists biographies all done which will be on the site soon if you are interested.

Painting session with my little cousin. She's just 5 years old and she can already paint!

And the result of the work minus the bases...

A Diorama I painted for WAMPED II

This diorama depicts Russian Infantry posing for a picture after the battle at the Korsun-Cherkassy (Shevchenkovskiy) Pocket in 1944. The figures are wearing a variety of captured German uniforms as well as their standard dress. The figures wear many different shades of uniforms, this is because in WWII, there was almost no quality control over the color of the fatigues. Factories printed uniforms with whatever colors they had, actual Russian uniforms range from light browns, to khakis, and to olive greens.

Made from Master Box's "Photo for the Newspaper" kit, total build and paint time was about 15 hours.

And some WiPs:

Here is the STARCRAFT commission finished up:

One of the Protoss Armies:

Also here is a Dust Tactics Revised Core Set Painted up. A tutorial is coming on the FFG Website soon to paint these.

Another thing I'd like to add is some cheap ways to get terrain pieces for wargames, especially after Christmas when everything is 50-80% off.

I bought these Christmas mountain backdrops in a set with a bunch of trees for about $10.00 each and repainted them.

Some trees, the taller ones in the back were purchases at Kohls for $6 and the smaller ones came with the hills.

And lastly, a Greater Demon of Nurgle painted by Billy (elotsip).

Thanks for reading everyone and have a happy holiday.

Also, the Facebook page has reached 150 likes and we are raffling away a squad after the holidays, anyone who likes the page before we draw is eligible to win, so like it if you haven't already done so!

Hi everyone,

My last post before the holidays and I would like to wish all of our readers a Merry Christmas. In this post, I posting some of my best single model paintings and only a bit of commission work.

First, here is my Commissar Lord painted for Kathy Nguyen (Happy Birthday!). This took about 8 hours and was my first Citadel Finecast model. I have been reluctant to work with Finecast due to all of the bad reviews. Surprisingly my model was from the first batch and didn't have any problems on it.

Here's the painting on the cape, that is about half the layers.

Cool Mini Or Not Link (please vote for me!):

Here is on of the few historical models I have done, I painted it awhile ago and won a Gold Medal in the IPMS Fort Worth SuperCon 2010 - Figures Diorama.

German Infantryman in Winter Gear. This one is a bit old also. I placed Silver in Large Models at IPMS Scalefest 2011 with this.

I've had this one for a while but finished her up for the Wamped II Contest:

Cool Mini Or Not Link:

Melisande Wavecutter, this one was originally for ReaperCon, but I didn't make it, but she placed Silver for Fantasy Models are IPMS Scalefest 2011.

Cool Mini Or Not Link:
http://www.coolminiornot.com/273788

Viet Cong Guerilla Fighter. I entered this one a few times in contest, but it has never placed, it is still one of my favorite models though. the kit is a Monogram Merite, the oldest in my collection. This model was printed in the 1970's.

This mini diorama depicts the German Blitzkrieg into France in 1940. First place for this piece at IPMS Scalefest 2011- Young Modelers Dioramas.

Cool Mini Or Not Link: http://www.coolminiornot.com/279309

Progress on the Earth Reborn Minis, hoping to have them finished soon:

Picked these up at the Holiday Sale at my LGS, the Original Dust Box was full prices, but I got the Descent game for about $40.

I bought the Descent game for the minis, but I don't really like them, I will entertain offers to trade this game or another game with minis or to sell it. PM me if interested.

If anyone here is also a member on the Wamp forum, they have a contest, the Wamped II. I would appreciate it if you could vote on some of my models.

[The Dust Tactics Images have been removed since they are in an article for FFG and I don't want to have pictures of anything out until it is published]

Thanks for reading, Merry Christmas all!
