I'll tell you why. Cos my Hori SC5 Arcade Stick came in today. I ordered straight from Hori. I think it has Sanwa buttons. Most people will tell you HORI is great and that SANWA parts are even better.

I am serious. I got it for the 360 (which I only have SFAE and KOF on there) But I'm excited.

AND SO DARN TIRED

I started a new job shift from 400am to 1230pm and why am I still up? I just went on a shopping spree... and saw my STICK!

Right now I'm going to go back to focusing on ST even though I said I would take a major break. There are majors and qualifiers for ST and some of the world's best are going to compete (I think it's called the Tournament of Legends?) And since I'm going to Evo 2k12 I might as well train and practice and get a shot it! I would do this since this game is not a major other than the tourney thing but who plays ST anymore?

I'm sorry guys, ST is my first and I will always have fun and love it death. Speaking of which I am improving with Cammy. A top Third Strike player has told me that Cammy doesn't really suck as much as people say she does... if you know how to use her. My confidence is booming!

Have a good one guys!

I finally opened this baby up. And I love this! It's along the same as most of the older games (as far as the feel and style) and I have so much fun!

My team so far is a mix between Athena, Mature and Kula or Athena, Elizabeth and Mature. I am not sure, I'm still mixing up some characters a bit and trying to play them to see who I like better. Athena is perfect my exact style that I like fighting. Mature is stronger, slower but I feel like I will get more basics down with her faster.

This game is crazy! You can change your characters style/clothing (colorwise) and collect gallery images which include videos as well. The character sayings are hilarious. This is a well rounded fighting game. Instead of Rounds per say it's your three fighters against your opponents three fighters and it's up to the last one standing who wins. There is no tag teaming here folks (unlike Marvel and the new Street Fighter x Tekken) which I think makes it perfect for figuring out all of your characters moves, strengths and weaknesses before entering the match. You get to pick who goes first, second, third.

Now, I just had to get this out of the way as I'm about to lay into some more moves while I'm waiting for my appointment today in this horrendous rain.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE FIGHTING GAME CHARACTER?

Well of course I have many but I'll highlight my absolute favorites.

Cammy in case you didn't get it. I like the fact that they didn't give her fireballs or any projectiles and she has to work harder. And she managers to kick arse wearing so little ha! It's hilarious. I love her fighting style and I'm sure that if they did interject a projectile of some sort she'd be top tier no doubt. She's great!

Another quick shout outs to Jin from Tekken. I have had a crush on him. His family history in the game is awesome and his fighting style is just "I'm going to make you wish you were dead" type of attitude. I used to pick him all the time but I think that if I picked up Street Fighter x Tekken I'd make a Cammy and Jin team.

What's up guys. Last week I had a few crazy AE matches with:

He won most of them. I literally spent 1 hour on it before just messing around with my daughter mostly. It was odd to say the least, I have to set up my default settings (the ones I have for ST2). No, I'm not using excuses! I think you are pretty decent and we could probably learn a lot from playing each other! Good game!

Upon looking at Street Fighter x Tekken some more, I am not too sure I want to get it right now. Sure they are using this game right now in the tourneys, I don't even know if they are done with AE. Speaking of Tekken I had some serious practice time...

I messed around for a good 30 minutes and then I went into practice mode. I thought I would stick with Jin and Christie my go to characters but, And but, I find myself liking Julia the most. Her fighting style is more solid and fluid (though not as fluid as Xiayou who is my goto character in Tekken Advance laugh ) I kinda liked Zafina too but the more I played her I realized that she's a bit more technical and seems to only be great for very few fighting styles. She's cool though. But I also realized my short stint at the arcade where I beat my friend most of the matches was only because he probably was not that good. My boost in confidence drained significantly upon my 1.5 hour session.

I got to work in the practice mode and pulled up the moves list.

HOLY #@*^!%$ that's the moves list for ONE character?!

FRACK. They seem so simple but at the same time there's like 50 moves to memorize against the like 3 that Cammy had! Guys, Tekken seems a lot of fun but man, I'd have to put in so much work. And this game seems simpler to play with an arcade stick instead of pad. I'm looking into it.

They are doing some Wed. Night Fights streaming live over at Super Arcade and Friday and Saturdays too I think (Sundays is Soul Calibur?). I haven't made it out since that last Friday but I'm rounding up my girl Sasha so we can make the trip and just hang out, look at some skills and techniques and gain some insight hopefully.

My friend who plays KoF and Melty Blood (as seen here as Husui)

Is setting up the Evo accommodations. We are talking about how many are going, who's going to be in the room, etc. He'll be entering KoF again and probably have a sides of Melty Blood I am assuming. He took 5th at Final Round in ATL this year, and I believe 8th a couple of years ago at Evo

BTW Seeing Melty Blood just makes me want to play Vampire Savoir (aaaaah, Morrigan!)

I did buy King of Fighters for the box but it's still unopened. I'm obsessed with the Tekken right now. shake Game looks so much but they should have had Foxy. Can't wait to play! (looking forward this weekend!)

There was also suggestions that if I was looking for something Guilty Gear like that I should check out BlazBlue. I just might check it out and get Extend, I'm really thinking about it but I'm stuck. I will more than likely play it again at the Round 1 arcade this Sunday and make up my mind. I do miss some Guilty Gear though. So much fun! I cannot recommend this game enough!

Oh, real quick, I did a marathon of "The Tester" since I was home sick. Wow. I was so jelly at all the Playstation stuff they got!

I know I'm not hardly on these days (the past weekend I've been sick and been on PSN for netflix mostly) but I'm better and getting back into the swing of things. I think I want to start doing casuals at the local college, though they usually only do it for AE, now SxT, and Marvel. We'll see how things go!

Who's your favorite fighting game character and why? I'll answer mine (which one of them you know already) next post!

*Fair warning... I am not editing this and I'm at work so this is quick write up and I hope you guys don't mind!

And in doing so as Street Fighter X Tekken comes out. I'm a clever lady!

So I am loving Cammy so much but when I went back to ST2 I was... Caught off guard. It's like I lost all my fundamentals. Where's my blocking? Where's my "NO JUMP" thoughts? Where's my bait and trap, wait and surprise game? It disappeared all thanks to AE. Yeah, I'm blaming AE. Do you know why?

COS AE FEELS SO EASY!

Yeah, I've been practicing on and off (maybe averaging 3 hours/week since late August 2011 and even missing some weeks) with Super Street Fighter 2 HD mix only. This was my only Street Fighter in my life. We were in love. And I cheated every now and again with 3rd Strike cos it was tempting. And fun. BUT really hard to learn techniques with. So that love affair died slowly. And then Super Street Fighter 4 AE is like, "Hey. Sup? I got Cammy and some other cool players, even ones from 3rd Strike. I like you, don't you like me?" And I felt bad and I knew it wasn't going to be that pretty but I took it anyway. And I liked it, had fun for an hour and then ST2 was like, "OH hai, remember what we had? I've been around since the beginning!" And I was "Oh yes, you're right" But I went back and AE just messed up my game so much! AE made promises to me, made me have a good easy time, I got my combos, beat some people. It was fun and I slightly mashed!

So yeah. I'm back to the basics. And yes I am proud to blame AE.

I also picked up some Tekken goodness. FUN! I usually play Christie or Jin but I am lovely Zafina! Why are not everyone play Zafina? She's weirdly awesome and I like her style. And her outfits. But as with Tekken I'm having trouble with minor basics like blocking and the timing with getting up from a knock down or such. I need to just defense this game first so I don't have to learn the hard way. I mean, I already lost consecutively to a Pink custom boxer guy with a Tiger head (What's his name again?!)

So yeah.

Tekken on PS3 = business_mouse And I will add you since I am horrible at adding people
Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition on Xbox 360 = jaestaar And I will add you since I am horrible at adding people

Soon to get: Street Fighter X Tekken (Most likely for both systems since offline team is not compatible with online on 360)
King of Fighters
Soul Calibur 5

Oh yeah, I still play Tatsunoko vs Capcom Allstars and Guilty Gear XX Acent Core on the Wii. Look at my profile for Wii friend code and I will love to play these games! These are the top two favorite most fun fighting games for me right now.

ARe you guys excited for Dead of Alive? Can't wait to use Ayane!!!

Friday night fights!

I'm back you guys! I haven't left though my nights have been occupied by other things and such but I am slowly getting back to the thick of things. I've let up a lot on Street Fighter. This past two weeks I've played everything just about. The latest Tekken, Marvel vs Capcom, Mortal Kombat aaaaaand I think that's it. Everything except Street Fighter 4 AE hahahaha. Must say something.

So I'm liking Tekken a lot. As for getting a quick feel of it I liked it. I just need to learn some combos and I'll be good. Mortal Kombat is HARD. Let me tell you it's a gamers game. You absolutely have to know exactly what you are doing and when to do it and why you are doing it. There is no room for button mashing or friendlies here. I like it but not as much as the other games I played. Its so over the top gruesome and slutty hahaha.

So Heeeeeeey, what's up Ultimate Marvel vs Cap. How YOU doin? I played this in the game room at Orccon with my friend Sasha (who's boyfriend is trying to have her learn the ways of the arcade stick in fighters and who is a serious competitive fighter player). It was our first time playing this one and they were using xbox. SOooooo we are not xbox players. She plays on arcade stick only. I play with PS3. We were hilarious trying to figure out which buttons do what and how this works but we got it done and I apologize to Sasha afterward for picking Morrigan. This game is FUN. I mean on the Tatsunoko vs Capcom fun level. I had such a blast. I think I want to stick to the games that I have the most fun with.

My friend still thinks I should focus on Street Fighter with Cammy.

Nothing new, Didn't play any newer, better players at the arcade. Everyone was carrying around their sticks. Is it bad if I told you I was gonna get a cheap one and mod it with a Pokemon theme?

Practice focus shifts from Street Fighter 2 to Tekken and UMvC3 until further notice. HUZZAH!

So I've been skipping out a bit on my Street Fighter the last of the year. I barely got some play in. But now I'm back to the grind. More Cammy practice for the whole month this month. I am working hard and then have decided to pick up SSFIV AE since they have the 2012 patch. I cannot wait. I haven't gotten UMvC3 yet because I'm still going back and forth between which console to pick it up for. I keep saying the 360 but then when I get close to buying it I change my mind. I know I know I keep saying this but I PROMISE I WILL HAVE THIS GAME BY MY BDAY (which is at the end of this month)

What does everyone think of The King of Fighters XIII? Anyone hype for Soul Calibur 5? How about SFxT? TEKKEN I'm super hype cos it's Christie all the way ALL THE WAY WOOOO!!!!

Okay back to business. I am going to Evo. I will more than likely not compete but it doesn't mean I won't compete at some local tourney just for shiggles. Once I get a feel for AE I'll make a decision. I love KoF but there is no Foxy (who sucks but I love her). Soul Calibur is fun but I was never that good.

Okay, SFxT it is! Hahahaha.

Okay back to ST, for practices I've been using Honda and Deejay as my dummies. I do not like these guys. At all. Not even a little bit. I've also going back through some guides to get a feel of what I can do to improve in my defense to offensive strikes.

I'm very sour that I'm missing MAGFest because I was going to try out my skills there. There's always the local anime and sci fi con with the game rooms to try. I should try there and then report back!

Keeping short and nothing much happening. Hopefully I'll get an event in so this won't be super boring!

And there was much fun to be had! We played Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo of course and I was Cammy. No surprise. When Cammy wears her all pink outfit she is on point. When she wears her other outfits, she is horrendous. I STILL LU CAMMYCAMS! _____ (Insert a big heart)

Caleb was actually pretty good although he swears that he was not. He just had to keep picking Cammy's mortal enemy though, Mr. Bison. That guy.
shake

For most of our matches I played an aggressive stance and maybe half of the times (most of the times?) it worked. When I won... cos I only won like, 4 matches? Hahahaha, I think it was like 4/12 or something to that effect. Well, I was most successful with Cammy. I blame Pokemon. Cos Pokemon is serious business.

Okay I lied I picked Honda and I was the most successful with him the one time I picked him but I don't like that guy. I had to use the same move over and over because I was salty (SORRY CALEB!) and I won, but trust me I felt HORRIBLE even though you couldn't tell admist all my gloating

Anyway, working in our sessions I realize that I have to change up my style. Cammy is super had to work with and her pokes actually work for her the most though I feel so slow when I wait as I think you should do with her. And I jump too much for which Caleb punished me for doing so... A LOT. I also haven't played in weeks so I was just getting back into the swing of things.

Now, Third Strike is an ugly beast that scares me to death but it's so much fun. I really need a stick for that though.

Thanks for playing with me Caleb!!!

Again for those that missed it please play on PSN with me: Business_Mouse

And XBL: Jaestaar

I keep saying so but I PROMISE to pick up UMVC3 and show you how awesomely suck I am with Morrigan... And STORM!!!! but it will be fun practice. If not you can even add me on Wii (psh, who plays that anymore... right?) and we can play some TvC!

So I recently found out my friend attends one of the most famous Arcades here in good ole California when they have their Wed. Night Fight. Sadly though, the real tourney season is picking up so I don't know if the schedule will change so I will see if we can go sometime soon, to scope out the competition. I've been taking it easy since the holiday season picked up and haven't really played any games at all besides Pokemon and various other DS titles (on the train to and from work). I miss Cammy.

I miss them all.

I am also gonna invest in an arcade fight stick soon enough. They are sold out on the one I want (hori v.3 ps3) so I'll have to wait when they get back in stock. I will also be picking up Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom STRICTLY because I had so much fun with Tastunoko and I hear they are a bit similar. And it has Morrigan.

Keep Fighting hope alive! If you want to play with me in Third Strike (I suck so hard but I welcome friendly players, I use Makoto) or ST2 please add me or shoot me a message if you see me online PSN:

Business_Mouse (because I'm as quiet as a mouse when I play it's all business. haahahaha)

XBL: Jaestaar though I don't have anything right now. UMvC pending for this one.

I Beat Arcade Mode... With Cammy!!!!

I haven't played ST in a week and some change but this morning I was feeling it. I woke up early this morning (problems sleeping, being sick, etc) and just went to work. No pratice before starting arcade mode. I figured it would be my practice. I was tripple C you guys!!!!! Cool, calm and collected. I went into my matches definsively, I tried to read the opponents and I didn't panic! I did use what worked when I found something that did and stuck with it.

I played on Medium and not easy! It took me 45 minutes. the ones who gave me the most trouble were zangief and honda. I retried those matches the most. But it was important to remember what I read and what I learned. Knowing my reach (hit boxes?) And space was very important. I had to play a poke game with these guys so I wouldn't get grabbed. Very hard for me BUT IT WORKED. They were back to back so I used what I learned against the others.

Notable matches:
Ken I beat with one match, back to back rounds. I guess all that training dummy pratice paid off. Also fei Long and Ryu beat with one match.

DJ and Vega most annoying matches. Lol. Didn't loose a lot but should have won in most of the rounds.

Bison took 3 matches. He was not as hard as some players use him as.

Sagat is a good player but usese the exact same moves. Same with most players use him as. Lol.

No Guile, no Blanka.

I feel like I'm awesome guys! I played a really great poke game most of the time, I learned a lot and used what I learned thus far and it paid off. Next I'm going to focus on online matches again and see how I measure up, under pressure lol. I wish I could play people in the arcade though. Darn AE!!! I'm so hype though. I had a lot of fun playing this morning and now my daughter who caught my last match is playing hahahahaha.

Online Matches in ST... No surprise

So I got online last night and decided to host a 5 player room. Yeah, big mistake. The first guy told me I need a lot of practice. Which is true. I played him twice with Cammy before he left. He was pretty good.

Soon it was 4 of us at one point going back and forth with matches. I picked mostly Cammy, Ken twice, Chun once and accidently DJ once. Let's just say I got the closest to victory with Ken. I did not win one match. I did win one round out of, oh, maybe 15 or 16 or so.

Things I have realized:
*Cammy is handicapped versus most players
*I strongly dislike Sagat. Strongly dislike
*Blanka is the cheapest character of them all. At one point the guy I played with just kept electrocuting me lol. Blanka is also horrible because Cammy has no projectiles to stop this and it gets frustrating. Just sit there and wait until Blanka does it again! angrylaugh
*I need practice. LOTS of practice
*I have not improved on my defensive skills

I inquired about a local tournament but now i feel a bit, scared. Don't think I'll enter it this time. I'm also aware that a lot of tourneys are sanctioned for regional and stuff leading into the championships (world perhaps?) So yeah, I don't want to be ranked I just want to gain experience live in person. I know my skills are nowhere near good. Maybe just above the "newb" like laugh

I feel like starting from the bottom up will help me appreciate and better use the current Street Fighter gaming system. Am I wrong for thinking this? I also realize that when I had used Ken I kept it cheap using three moves. Yes, it worked but I don't like Ken and I want to improve upon the basics/fundamentals. Still having a hard time reacting quickly to opponents and reading them properly. This will get better with time I think
