Well, another Space hulk set is all painted up!
This set went much smoother than the first one, and IMO it looks better. Don't believe me? Fine then, time for the pictures!
Obligatory blurry group shot!
No pictures of the Genestealers as they look just the same as the ones in the first SH set, so I don't wanna bore anyone!
Looking forward to stuffing myself with turkey tomorrow! I made a red velvet cake to take along to my families traditional Thanksgiving pig-out, so I hope it tastes good.
Enjoy the pictures! Euen
P.S. In the future, you guys should be seeing an entire Dreadfleet set painted up (I will have to buy 20 new shades of paint for that commission), the final third of a year-in-the-making Warhammer Fantasy battle army, plus whatever I get my hands on.

Well, another crazy week has slipped on by...which means that is high time for an update!
For starters, I have finished those albino Axis Gorillas!
And also for the same person, I have started in on an Axis Medium assault Walker. Really liking the way the color scheme is working out on this one.
And, since we are talking about Dust Tactics, I managed to get Rhino painted up. I probably spent a total of 2 hours on him, broken up in 15 minute sessions. Still in need of a base, but otherwise, I am satisfied with him.
Of course, I have gotten some more done on Space Hulk. These guys just need the crosses on their shoulders painted on+a couple other teeny things, they are done. I also have 6 Genestealers in the works, but I won’t be bothering with pictures until they are finished.
On a miscellaneous note, I’m teaching myself to play guitar, and I think it is going well, as I can now keep up a solid beat and rhythm for exactly 1 minute. Heh. Still, I have only been practicing for 3 days, so I guess I am doing OK...It sure is a heck-ton harder that it looks! Hoping to get myself a bass guitar after I have gotten in a bit more practice, that way, my cousins and I can get together and do some jam sessions.
Anyways, hope you guys like what you see!
Cheers! Euen

Hey all,
Well, it has been an insane week, as I have either been in the midst of some really difficult homework-and thinking about how much I need to work on commissions-or I have been in the midst of commissions-and thinking about how much I need to be doing homework. Bleh. No wonder I have a headache. Needles too say, I have, for the umpteenth week in a row, not gotten nearly as much done on commissions as I had hoped to.
Anyways, enough wallowing in self-pity, it is time for photos! First up, we have finished models. I managed to get my Herman, Blackhawk, Pounder (which is missing its gun-if anyone has a spare one, send me a Geekmail) and Ludwig finished up, meaning there are a few things here and there yet to be done.
And on to commissions. I have not gotten nearly as much done on the Space Hulk commission as I would like, however, considering the crazy way things have been going in my life lately, I am lucky I have gotten as far as I have. I will be staying up late tonight, so I can finish up the below four Terminators. Then it is on to more Genestealers.
Here are some Axis Gorillas. I decided to do something different with them, you know, something other than black. So, I have painted them with an albino color scheme, which I am pretty happy with. Still, there is plenty left to be done, including an Axis Ludwig/Luther/Lothar, to be painted in a black-and-red color scheme.
And one last little thing: I got myself a box of Warhammer Fantasy Battle Savage orcs back in July, I think? Anyways, they have been sitting around for awhile, so I decided to get a picture of them. There are 6 more, but I just chose my 4 favorite ones. I really love these models, they just look so pissed, kinda like me .
Anyways, that is all I have for you guys. Tomorrow is my birthday, so I am hoping to get some more Dust Tactics models...I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
Cheers, Euen

Well, no pictures of my Walkers yet, but I DO have some pictures of other models, both finished and Work In Progress(WIP).
So, on with the pictures!
The first group of Marines has been painted up...Of course, the minute I looked at the photo, I realized there were some things left to be done. Typical me.
A Allied sniper squad and a Allied observer squad, done on commission!
Markus and OZZ 117, painted up as a part of the same commission. Really happy with OZZ, the green turned out just about perfect I think.
Sorry for the quality of this picture, I couldn't get Markus's face to focus.
A unit of Axis Zombies, for my own collection. These guys painted up REALLY fast, and I am quite happy with them.
BOO!
Hope you guys like what you see! Enjoy, and feel free to leave any thoughts, positive or negative!
Cheers! Euen

So, I promised pictures of some finished Dust Tactics miniatures+Space Hulk miniatures would be here, on my blog, last weekend.
Yeah, that didn't happen, because, as usual, life got in the way. I ended up spending the weekend playing a big solo Dust Tactics game against myself on my old Warhammer 40k urban ruins board, and then my family ended up doing a bunch of stuff as well. Sooo, not much got done. And it looks like you guys won't be seeing any finished Dust Tactics walkers by the end of this week, either. Why, you ask? Simple. The AK interactive weathering enamels I got (endorsed by Mig Jiminez of Mig productions) ended up being a massive failure, and are going to the trash. "But their endorsed by one of the most famous modelers of them all!", you say "How can they be crap!?". Simple (I'm using this word a lot), they failed me 3 strikes system:
Strike 1! They are toxic and smell bad, plus did I mention they are runny and hard to control? I have to wear latex gloves and go outside to be able to use the stuff. Strike 2! They don't work like they should. I followed the instructions, and instead of forming natural streaks like they are supposed to do when you apply the "white spirit" (code-name for "paint thinner"). Instead, the enamels sorta spread out everywhere and stained the white camouflage markings on my walkers a orange brown...meaning I have to go back in and re-apply white over all the areas that I attempted to weather. Which takes forever. Strike 3!They take to long to use. I mean, I just don't have the time to do all of the above! Even though acrylic weathering looks a bit bold, I am going to stick to that from now on, because with acrylics, I have no toxins to worry about, they are fast, efficient, odor free, and easy to use and (most importantly) easy to remove.
Sooo, what with one thing and another, I will not have pictures of finished Dust Tactics walkers up for a good while yet. Ugh.
I will have some pictures of Space Hulk stuff soon, though. I am hoping to have 4 more marines, and 6 more genestealers, done by the end of the week, for a total of 8 finished marines and 18 finished genestealers.
Cheers! Euen

Hey all,
Well, I hate to say it, but it if for the best...
BlackDog Painting Studio is on indefinite hiatus
My studies are just getting too demanding to allow me to take 2-3 hours out of my 7-10:00 schedule to paint. I will finish up the two final commissions I have (a Space hulk one, plus a Warhammer Fantasy one) by the end of the year, and then I will not be accepting any more commissions. I just don't have it in me to run a business.
Sorry, all. Like I said, I hate to do it, but education takes precedence over money, and in this day and age, getting a good education so I can go to college is the safest bet for getting a job when I am older.
Best, Euen
P.S. I will have lots of pictures for you guys, probably by the weekend! So, stay tuned.

Just finished up a Space Hulk commission for Andy Stout, who is a member on here. Decided that I might as well share the photographs here with you guys!
So, onto the forces of the Imperium! I forgot to include a photograph of Noctis, my bad. Still some little tiny bits here and there that need done on these guys, but for all intents at purposes, they are done! Librarian:
Sergeant Lorenzo:
Sergeant Gideon:
Brother Deino:
Brother Goriel:
Brother Valencio:
Brother Claudio:
Brother Zael:
Brother Leon:
Brother Omnio:
Brother Scipio:
And the obligatory group shot, with the dead Space Marine:
On too the Tyranids! I couldn't get photographs of every single one of these, so I randomly picked out 3 of them as a sample for what the rest look like:
I love the guy on the far left, he really seems to be enjoying his helmet. And here is the Broodlord! I don't know if you guys can see it, but I made his tongue glossy and wet looking:
And here is a group shot of all the Tyranids together!
All in all, this was a really interesting commission; the Space Marine models are some of the most complex ones I have ever encountered. The Tyranids made a nice, relaxing way to break up the monotony of all of the red armor on the Space Marines! All in all, I am pretty happy with these guys, and so Andy! So - happy customer + happy painter = a really enjoyable commission!
Comments and criticisms are, as always, appreciated!
Cheers! Euen
P.S. Oh, and if you want a commission done, don't hesitate to send me a message here on BGG, or check out my website > http://blackdogpaintingstudio.webs.com/

Been a while since I last posted here!
This has mostly been because school and commissions have been getting underfoot lately, so I have had little to no time at all to paint my models.
Anyways, enough excuses, on to pictures!
First up, we have my heroes: Sigrid Von Thaler, and Bazooka Joe. I gave Sigrid red hair, instead of blond. Why? Two reasons: 1) I tire of the blond, aggressive female German cliche, and 2), redheads are awesome!
And here are the Battle Grenadiers. I am especially happy with the Panzeschreck bearers' basing. Pretty happy with all of them, actually!
Aaand here is the Hot Dog, all finished up!
Finally, a shot of everybody that is finished:
Hope you guys like them, and, as always, comments and criticisms are really awesome! It is great to get feedback on my painting.
Cheers! Euen
P.S. Oh, an update on the Allied foottroops' color scheme: I am now thinking of doing pale, sea green armor and white cloth, Going to try that scheme out tomorrow!

Way back when I found out that the Axis had Sub factions in their army, I got really excited. Think of all the possibilities there are, especially with a Japanese Weird War faction!
So, I have been doing some thinking, and I decided to get my thoughts in order by listing the various units that I think we could possibly see in the future for the Axis:
First up, the Japanese. I really, really hope that they go with a very samurai influenced feel for the Japanese forces in the Axis army. At the very least, I would like to see all Japanese foot soldiers carrying Katanas instead of the standard Knife everyone else has. Going even further down the line of possibilities with Samurai themed units, I would like to see some infantry armor 3 units clad in Samurai-esque battlesuits. They would have to be armed with range C weapons, just to fit with the Samurai theme, so maybe they could be armed with double Katanas, modified to be a little bit more sci-fi? And what about Sumo Wrestlers? Some sort of beefed up, gas-masked Sumo Wrestlers would be very cool, they could have, say, "enhanced damage resistance", or two wounds each in a unit of 3. Or they could even by armor 4 infantry, if they where heavily armored! Of course, it wouldn't be a 1940's Japanese force without some type of Kamikaze unit. Maybe zombies kitted out with bombs, though a stereotypical/overused idea, would suffice? Second up, what about more Gorillas/undead for the Germans? Gorillas wearing armor, to increase their survivability, would be pretty scary! Or maybe Gorillas with some sort of chainsaw attachment instead of Panzerfists? For Undead, I can definitely see winged Vampire-like units. Not glittery, Twilight-esque vampires though, I was thinking much more feral, almost bestial vampires would be really nice. Speaking of feral/bestial types, I would LOVE to see some werewolves! I am really liking the idea of giving them some sort of grenade launcher weapons, and then for close combat, claws and fangs always work well. Maybe give them a Lycanthropy type ability, where any hero they kill comes under the control of the Axis player they are aligned with?
So, what kind of units can you guys want to see introduced into the Axis army. or would kind of units do you NOT want to see introduced? Feel free to share your thoughts!

Well, it isn't the Pounder, BUT it is an Allied Walker. I present...
The Hot Dog!
As you can see, there are still some things needing done; namely, the machine gun, the floodlight, and the base. Pretty happy with how it is going, as I was trying to get it to look something like the walkers on the Core Set box art.
Enjoy, and comments are always really appreciated!
Cheers! Euen
