I have the planning Buzz.
If you're a GM then surely you've had it yourself. The buzz you get when planning a game that you want to run.
I've been role-playing for over twenty years, nothing unusual around here, and over that time I've been Games Master probably 70% of the time. Years ago I would be botter that I never got to be a Player, nowadays I am in full GM mode and love to be Games Master.
So in a touch of irony I'm no longer GMing as often as I would like. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying my role-playing very much, I just want to GM. I don't know about other GMs but my mind is constantly full of ideas, scenarios, NPCs. So the longer I go out of the GM chair, it's like a drug (I guess, I really wouldn't know), but I get serious withdrawal symptoms. Last week I got to finish off a Star Wars campaign that had been hanging around unfinished for over a year, that was a serious weight off the GM mind, but there was no Buzz with that one.
But next week I have the chance to GM.
The BUZZ is the excitement of getting to run an adventure, an adventure that I want to run, and this time this is the new Gamma World Roleplaying Game
But along with the Buzz are the nerves. This is going to just be a one week filler with a game the group knows little about. So I really want to sell this game to the group. I want to make it the best possible game I can so it's going to be planning and planning over the week.
I'm the GM, yay!
