There were 5 of us this Friday. We started with Hare & Tortoise, one of my old family games that was new to Marion and Richard. Experience showed, as the three players who had played before finished in the first three positions.

Next came Phoenicia, where Sami got out to an early income lead and never looked back - and Colin decided that mining is useless! We had a brief break mid-game when Robert woke up, so also got a few hands of On the Dot in, with Marion winning (very unusual - I almost never lose that one!).

Modern Art came next (I had a disaster - no-one would bid for my paintings!), followed by one of our favourites, Vegas Showdown, in which I got a very impressive income!

We finished with Powerboats, just getting all three races in before midnight. Richard won the first race, but it then all went horribly wrong for him in the later races, Sami kept getting blocked by boats in front of him, and Colin took some impressive detours in all three races, but still managed a good final score.

And I noticed at the end of the evening that I’d managed to place second in every game except Modern Art (which I lost horribly)!
