Cadwallon: City of Thieves Coming Next Week
Pockettactics is reporting that the iOS implementation of Cadwallon: City of Thieves will be arriving on the App Store November 8. Sadly, all the information we had heard about the title previously is still true: No AI, No online multiplayer. This is a pass-and-play only version of the game, and we all know how well that was received when Cyclades tried it. The developer, Cyanide Studio, has mentioned that AI and online multiplayer are a priority but the app may be all but forgotten by then. When we reported that this was going to release "soon" back in January, I was hoping the extra time they were taking with the game was to implement these features. Too bad, I had been looking forward to it.
Nightfall Has a Price Drop
Playdek has dropped the price of Nightfall for iOS Universal to $0.99USD for Halloween. The app is normally $2.99, so now's the time to pick it up if you haven't already. They also updated the app to version 1.1.3, which makes all the Nightfall and Martial Law promo cards freely available. You can get Nightfall in the App Store.
Borderlands Legends Releases Tonight
We've been talking about this one for a week or so now, and just found out Friday that this one is real-time and not turn-based. That said, it still looks cool and might still be a good one. It is available now on the New Zealand App Store, which means it should hit the US App Store around 11pm Eastern Time. There will be separate versions for iPhone ($4.99USD) and iPad ($6.99USD), so make sure you pick up the one you want!
Knights of Pen & Paper out for Android, Coming for iOS
Pockettactics reported yesterday about an interesting management sim from Behold Studios called Knights of Pen & Paper. The game puts you in control of a pen & paper RPG, allowing you to control the dungeon master, characters, creating quests for your players, managing the player's food and drink, etc. That's soda and chips for your players, not ale and mutton at a roadside inn. The game will have IAP but, according to the developer, will not be necessary to play the game. It will make higher-level items quicker to obtain, but you can grind to get enough in-game currency for all the items without spending any money. The game is already available for Android for $1.99USD on Google Play. They submitted it to Apple for review on October 16, so it should be out any day now. They are also looking at releasing a version for PC/Mac.
New Puzzle Game, Pixld, Comes to iOS
Airtight Games released their new puzzle game, Pixld, yesterday for iOS Universal. This is a single-player, color-matching game with 5 different modes and power-ups thrown in to keep it interesting. The modes include things like LEVLD, where you must reach a point value in a certain time frame to "level-up" and continue the game, or 50TAPS in which you have 50 moves to accumulate the highest score. Pixld is $0.99USD and is available in the App Store.
