. . . or at least the BGG Secret Santa visited me and my husband.
My Santa made some really wonderful choices for me which included: O Zoo le Mio, San Jan, Quiddler, R-Eco, Pirate versus Pirate, Hey That's my Fish. We were already able to get most of the games on the table. I'm particularly fond of the solitaire versions of Quiddler.
The boys love the Pirate versus Pirate game. We played a very spirited, enthusiastic, and somewhat loud game full of lots of laughter and yelps when the pirates were removed by other players. The pieces are really great. It's a simple game that allows players to make decisions about the best movements to be make in order to avoid the opponents pirates while getting the coins onto the boat. My nine year old won our game.picture courtesy of (mmaaaxx)
My nine year old was also really excited about the Hey, That's My Fish penguin game. He LOVES penguins.
Sometimes there is not a lot of time in the day during the week once I get home from work, get the boys off the bus, homework done, husband gets home from work, taking turns doing dinner/dishes and giving kids baths, then putting the kids to bed. Normally, we do not get games on the table on the weekdays; however, we have had a couple quick games of San Juan to the table during those busy days. I'm getting better at the game but I have yet to win. I haven't played San Juan since 2007 when I was gaming with another couple while we were in college.
So, if you are reading this my wonderful Secret Santa, we truly appreciated everything. And, I've been playing ninja and have not discovered your identity . . . yet. I will find you.
As I mentioned, my husband also received his goodies from his Secret Santa, but I don't want to steal his thunder.
