The last official TEG gathering of the year. It was just Timm, Chris and I. We chatted for a bit and I thought I'd give them an early Christmas gift...to play a game of Monad. I like the game but am usually pretty awful at it. I did see the new version of it in the little box set with Venture and Sleuth. That set looks really nice! I have them already, but if I didn't, I would be all over that box set of three quality games. And the games are good, let me assure you. Well, Chris stomped on us in Monad this time gaining his four Monads to my one and Timm's none. I felt I started to get it going but Chris is really good at this. Timm is usually much better but he had a game that I normally had. It's a card game of trading up and timing.
We wandered around the basement looking for a game to play. I would have taught a game last night but ultimately we settled on Stone Age. I'm glad we did. I like this one and it was perfectm for the night. Haven't played this one with three much but it's just as good as four, I feel. We all kept pace for the most part...I went the food route so I didn't have to worry about it but it's fairly clear to me now that you have to have to use the LoveHut(tm) and have guys to really win. Chris did and chugged away at the end. Timm was working the cards, as was I, and gained bonus points but it wasn't enough. Chris had 141, Timm 125 and I had 110. I still enjoyed the game.
Because of the day we decided to cut it short this week. Chris left and Timm and I did squeeze a game of Crokinole in. He jumped out early (25 to 0) but lost it in the third round as I methotically beat him down for the win 100+ to 25.
My last write up until next year. Happy Holidays!!!!
