I just read about an old game from the '90s called Key to the Kingdom. From what little I've read of it, the game my son and I are making sounds eerily similar.

Just thought that was rather... interesting.

Anyway, work continues on our game. I believe I finally got the issues worked out with Dungeon Designer. I'll only have to re-do a small amount of work, but I think I'm still going to implement my tweaks.

Hopefully we'll have something new to show in the way of progress in the next few days.

Well, the good news is that you only have to beat a 4.9-- which should be relatively easy considering your target demographic is easier to please!

Ha! You know, I'm actually going to try and get a hold of a copy of Key to the Kingdom. I think my son and I would have fun with it (even though it seems to be roundly reviled here). What's more, I suspect we could do some really fun tweaking to it...

I think you should! I got a copy of this when it was new and I was about five and my dad and I played the heck out of it for years. As an adult now, I remember the game fondly. If this game only has a 5 rating, then that is largely because they are the wrong audience. It was definitely a "Talisman for kids" if I am recalling correctly. I remember it being a blast!
