Earth Reborn GET!

Tanga is having a crazy sale on Earth Reborn. I missed it yesterday, but it came back today and I bought it! I honestly don't know a thing about it except it appears to be a highly rated war game with a very cool theme. Also, it has intricate miniatures.

I've never painted miniatures. When I was younger, I built and painted model planes and cars to a pretty detailed degree, so I'm not completely inexperienced, though. I've always been interested in trying my hand at miniatures like those from Warhammer, but frankly the price has been prohibitive. Anyway, with a few guides (like those from Universal Head and the guide from Games Workshop) in hand, I may finally give miniatures a try. Frankly, it seems pretty straightforward! Maybe I'll pick up the cheapest set of Warhammer goons I can find first, though.

Speaking of Universal Head, of course he just put up an epic guide for Earth Reborn that I'm sure is going to be a staple (much like the Arkham Horror one).

Snagged a copy last night - just to good to pass up. Wanted it for awhile but was waiting off due to price. Game looks fantastic. Interview with the designer at Essen worth watching.

Tips appreciated! And I'm glad to see more people getting in on this deal--the better these types of deals do, the more likely we are to see them in the future.

The game does look pretty awesome. I'm hoping I can get my fiancee into it (despite her preference towards cute games). We'll see!

Earth Reborn made also my boyfriend to try out miniature painting though unlike you, he's completely inexperienced. He's been practising with cheap toy solders and now with the ships from Merchants & Marauders. I like the Earth Reborn figures unpainted too, but admit they'd be much much much cooler with some paint on.

And of course I hope you like the game too. It's one of my favorite games!

To be fair, I'm pretty inexperienced also. Never done anything as detailed as miniatures. I've never done a "wash" or anything. But still, it seems pretty simple (and fun). I'm excited to give it a try at least. I can live with unpainted figures but it just adds yet another level to that epic feeling of a war game like this one when you have well painted figures. I can also use it as preparation for my eventual purchase (and painting? We'll see...) of the Game of Thrones games.

It is nice to see some females enjoying Earth Reborn too! I'm certainly hoping I can get my fiancee into it. Last time we played Small World, she got pretty upset when my Skeletons killed all her Dwarves...

I get pretty upset too when I get killed in Small World, it rarely gives me a chance to win. Earth Reborn is different, it's not so much about the number or location... it's about having the biggest bad ass weapons. Try to make her play with salemites, they seem pretty brutal but usually there's more salemites on the map than NORADs and they get better weapons too. Even if she plays badly or doesn't get the rules at first, she'll stay alive a lot longer and feel that she really had a chance to win

Just my opinion

Haha, okay, I'll take your advice on that.

The thing about my fiancee is she always picks Dwarves because they're cute... even though they're the worst race in the game! I love her for it though (and not just because I can win afterwards).
