Our game club met today. I wrote a session report on Gameblog, go read it there for details. Here are the photos.

I was armed with the 18-55mm kit lens. I've started to notice it's a bit lacking in some respects (it's not fast enough and the bokeh can be awful), but it's still my only normal or wide lens, hence it sees action.

They were playing Moto Grand Prix when I arrived. Time to snap some photos. The following photos are actually two different crops of the same photo. The one on right is the original, the one on left is based on feedback I got. Which one do you prefer?

We also played South African Railroads. Very good game, though not as photogenic.

One of these was declined first because of glare, so I just cropped a bit on the side with the worst glare and it went smoothly through the GeekMod.

In the Moto Grand Prix shot I prefer the Original. It's a more interesting composition with the track moving your eyes through the picture to the background. The detail crop is nice but the curves aren't utilized as well. Crop a little off the right of it to stop your eye from moving along the table groove to the top left corner.

Thanks for the input! One of those is likely my June Monthly Photo Contest entry, so your opinion is valued.
