Currently, I'm finishing a fun set of sessions of Shogun. I'd like to incorporate this into the Shogun game set for the tournament. I'm debating whether or not to use all the same characters. I think it's nice when the individual games have hooks- something about them that adds even more interest than the game alone. The people cards are a hook like that, but since they're present in all of the games, it's nice to have more. I'm pretty sure the winner of the current session will be in the larger

It's looking like Imperial 2030 is going to be the first of the games played. I've been busy exploring the game and am about ready to make a review. After that, I shall start the first video. I'm excited to meet the competitors!

On the technical front, my wife approved whole heartedly the purchase of some video-editing software. Since I've been having to use an open-source HD to not HD converter- which takes a lot of time to process- in order to use my open-source editing software, the new software will save me a lot of time as well as allow the colors of the game bits to stand out. I do not intend to get into making fancy videos, however. I'm fine with them, especially if they are succinct, but if I'm watching a "review" and two-minutes of majestic credits and animation, I stop the video. One of the reasons I play board games is because I don't like Hollywood movies. When we are slick or flashy, we lose the interesting qualities of being human. It might be fun to do an a capella crunky send-up of the style I despise, however.
